Spurs will try for their first away win of the season with a trip to the Serbian capital after Sunday's tragi-comedic VAR-fest at Goodison Park. Shockingly, we have only won 1 of our last 18 away in all competitions. Our win against them a fortnight ago was only our 4th win in the last 18 in all comps. Red Star at home will be no pushover as they despatched Liverpool there 2-0 in last seasn's CL. Kane, Son and Rose make the trip with Lamela and Lloris the only players on the injured list.
i am off work today and will be available to watch. I am excited by the prospect, which can mean one of two things: 1) we will be shit, or 2) it won't be televised. of course, technically there are two more (remote) possibilities: 3) we will be shit and it won't be televised, and 4) it will be televised and we won't be shit. why do the odds of #4 feel so long to me?
Here are the teams: Tottenham Gazzaniga Foyth, Sánchez, Dier, Rose Sissoko, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Dele Son, Kane Substitutes: Alderweireld, Vorm, Sessegnon, Eriksen, Lucas Moura, Skipp, Davies Red Star Belgrade Borjan Gobeljic, Milunovic, Degenek, Rodic, Jovancic, Petrovic, García, Marin, van La Parra, Pavkov Substitutes: Popovic, Pankov, Vulic, Boakye, Ribeiro Santana, Simic, Cañas
Normally, Dier should never get into our team if Alderweireld and Eriksen are available for selection. Problem for the gaffer is he has to choose between Dier who is shite but tries hard and Eriksen/Alderweireld who are quality but don't want to be at the club.
In the other game, Olympiakos are holding Bayern 0-0 at the Allianz Arena. Bayern have been shite since they thrashed us, have sacked their manager and are seriously considering hiring...Arsène Wenger!
And as I say that Lewandoski scores in the 69th minute to break the deadlock. That is good news for us.
And Bayern wrap it up 2-0 and they are already into the knockout stage, Perisic with the second after coming on seconds earlier as a sub..
just tuned in to Juventus at Lokomotiv Moscow in time to see Juve's injury time winner. the camera then focused on a pained Lokomotiv defender lamenting that their efforts weren't going to pay off. it was Vedran Corluka.
Son with a shot dragged wide, good break by Spurs. He doesn't look affected from the incident Sunday.
From a long ball flicked on, the ball broke and after a miss-hit, the ball fell for Pavkov, who should have scored.
