The Round of 16 has first legs from February 19 to 21 and second legs the next week. The Red Bulls will host the second leg against Caribbean champion Atletico Pantoja of the Dominican Republic. They finished third of 12 in the 2018 Liga Dominicana de Futbol. They were 3 points behind first but with a much worse goal differential than the top two. Given how far east the Dominican Republic is, it's safe to say the away leg will start at 8:00 P.M., not 10:00 P.M. If we reach the Quarterfinals, we will host the first leg against Marathon of Honduras or Santos Laguna of Mexico.
The Red Bulls will be away on Wednesday February 20 and home on Wednesday February 27, with both legs at 8:00 P.M.
https://futnsoccer.com/2019/02/15/the-big-2019-concacaf-champions-league-preview/ is a preview that was linked to in the CONCACAF Champions League forum. The odds have us fifth most likely to win behind Tigres, Atlanta, Monterrey, and Santos Laguna. The author doesn't know why Sporting Kansas City has better odds than their Round of 16 opponent, Toluca. https://www.concacafchampionsleague.com/en/article/red-bulls-sign-danish-starlet-mathias-jorgensen is titled "Red Bulls sign Danish starlet Mathias Jorgensen." https://sports.yahoo.com/soccer/con...e/atlético-pantoja-new-york-red-bulls-115744/ is the Yahoo! I attached the Game Notes by Concacaf. It came as a downloadable Word file. BigSoccer does not let you attach Word files, so I converted it to a PDF.
Forgot this was happening today. However I found these highlights (more may show up as time goes on): https://www.univision.com/deportes/...-red-bulls-liga-campeones-concacaf-2019-02-20 No habla espanol, but I'm pretty sure the announcer thought that Pantoja's keeper was Luis Robles after he saved a shot by BWP! And she said "Robles" with so much authoritative gusto!!! Edit: p.s. nice to see the boys back together and a squad mostly intact.

In the CCL topic in MLS: News & Analysis, PTFC in KCMO posted highlights made by Concacaf. Our game is from 12:49 to 15:50.
https://sports.yahoo.com/soccer/concacaf-champions-league/new-york-red-bulls-atlético-pantoja-115755/ has video, but it froze. We lead 3-0. Edit: We won 3-0. Sean Nealis, who went to Hofstra like I did, was subbed on to make his debut. Santos Laguna won 5-0 hosting Marathon to become the first club to win both legs of a Concacaf Champions League or Champions Cup by at least 4 goals since UAG Tecos in 1995. UAG Tecos had problems and is now in Serie A, which is the third highest level in Mexico.
https://www.concacafchampionsleague...k/sccl-2019-ny-red-bulls-v-pantoja-highlights Was on a train from Newark airport after trip to Costa Rica last night and half jokingly told my wife I was going to jump out at Newark Penn to catch 2nd half. Looks like we have Santos Laguna in Quarter Finals. While the Mexican teams always seem to have the advantage, no one wants to play the Red Bulls either.
What I noticed is that the Red Bulls (Murillo aside) are a very disciplined team, especially when it comes to executing the game plan. This was a very measured, steady performance from start to finish. Any number of opportunities could have been goals, but the team just stuck to the script, never trying to simply out-talent their opponents. The backline is rock steady, Rzatkowski is a good fill-in for Adams, with some shifting of defensive duties over to Davis. Muyl needs to learn to play more within himself, but the attackers are creative and tenacious. I'm hoping Valot can get back on the field, and was heartened to see Duncan get in and show some pace. Likewise Nealis looks like a younger, leaner version of Parker. And Andreas, well, he needs to step it up, so scoring last night is a good way to start. Bring on Santos. It will be a stiffer test, but the team needs to play tough opponents in order to improve. Just cut out the silly cards and things are looking great.
Our first leg against Santos is this Tues 3/5. For a moment I toyed with the idea of going out to support them in person, but for a couple of reasons I think that's not happening. So what are the chances of finding a stream to watch this??? And now that r/soccerstreams is supposedly shutdown, where would one go to find it?
That would be cool. I've never streamed anything on Yahoo before. I notice that they have a page for the game and on the right side it has a "Game Stream" section with "Commentary, Summary, Conversations". Is that where we'd find a live stream on Tues?
Yahoo! Sports (the exclamation point is not a mistake, that's how they write their name) has the whole CCL, but the streams don't always work.
https://www.newyorkredbulls.com/post/2019/03/03/get-know-club-santos-laguna is titled "GET TO KNOW: Club Santos Laguna." The first leg will be on Univision Deportes live tomorrow at 8:00 P.M.
https://www.concacafchampionsleague...-santos-laguna-set-to-battle-in-quarterfinals is titled "Heavyweights NY Red Bulls and Santos Laguna set to battle in quarterfinals."
A crushing and decisive victory would be nice, but regardless, they'll have to get it done in the away leg, too.
Gonna try to watch tonite, either on DVR "tape delay" from Univision in Spanish. Or possibly live in Yahoo Sports, assuming that that's in English??
So much for the home/climate advantage! Edit: It was as if we were playing against their keeper, and he won big time. Ps. Yahoo Sports worked OK As long as I don't watch it fullscreen at which point it freezes. The English PBP is appreciated... and pretty decent. Why though did the stream just end abruptly as soon as the ref blew for FT????
Blown chances in a big game...again. Not good enough from the players. Terrible play from a couple roster positions that should have been upgraded...again. Not good enough from management. Same old metro.
