What I can tell you is he already looks a lot better than in his appearances last year. He was very credible out there. If he is going to be a viable option off the bench, he'll need to get a bit better in providing service, but I don't see any reason why he wouldn't be able to learn that at his young age. I'm not sure why he hasn't gotten more of a look from YNT pools, he might figure yet at the U-18/U-19 levels.

FWIW, both Bilyeu and N'dam were solid at CB in this game, although they did have some trouble late when Richmond put in a tricky attacker who liked to keep the ball on the ground, dribbling and combine with the LW. Kutler at RB had looked ok in the first half, but in the later going of the 2nd, got double teamed, which created some break throughs and havoc that threatened goal. NY kept up the pressure on the counter, but they do lack precision in front of goal.

    Good stuff @Woodrow

Obviously the only guys that are going to make the jump to the first team are guys that really REALLY stand out. Long has looked good but not great and he was the defender of the year last year in USL. Just goes to show you the quality gap. Likewise Etienne and Adams looked crazy good in the USL and have a few growing pains going on. They're on the younger side though and I'm really bullish on both of them. But Allen was tied?second? in scoring and I'm not sure he'll workout in MLS.

Bottom line is that 99% of the time it's only the guys who REALLY standout that are going to carve out a career beyond USL.

Blech! Another atrocious loss for the organization. Harrisburg takes advantage of a defender's mistake and the lack of a scoring threat comes back to haunt them.

Midfielder Vincent Bezecourt scored the game-winning goal and set up the insurance tally as Red Bulls II snapped a two-game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over Orlando City B at MSU Soccer Park Friday night.

For the record, Muyl’s father is from France, his mother is American (they met when she was studying for a graduate degree in France). The family’s surname, researched by one of Muyl’s friends, is Flemish.

Muyl is all American, make that all New York, having grown up on the Manhattan’s Lower East Side, where he attended public school. But throughout his life and soccer career there has been the matter of his surname, mispronounced regularly as “Mule.” That changed, at least for a little while, when he played at Georgetown University in Washington.

Hey, Manhattan Kickers. I used to referee their games. I wonder if I ever had him as a youngster?

As of this morning RBII are in 6th place, but teams like Rochester, Louisville and Ottawa have played a lot fewer games, so that position could easily change. Nonetheless, a big win against the current 1st place team, Charleston, could be a turning point, but a big part of their success has hinged on the returns of Etienne and Allen to the ranks of the 2nd team.

The U-23s behind their perfect 3-0-0 record top the table in the Mid-Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference.
