I can't remember who said it or where I read it but about a month ago they were saying that Red Bull Arena was already 80% done... that was w/out 1 seat installed, no grass and still finishing the roof on the other side of the stadium. I would say it's over 85% done... just need to install the rest of the seats and the last part of the roof and it's all details from then on.
Why did they stop installing seats? Was it because they had to concentrate on the grass before the weather got too cold? It's been a month, hasn't it, since they installed those few sections of seats in the northeast corner.
No they have been doing a new section every two or three days. I think they did one yesterday and there are the boxes for a couple more at the wait.
but it has definitely slowed down in the past week. in the beginning they were doing a section+ per day. Now they are getting 1/2 per day. start multiple crews in multiple locations, they have boxes stacked in the 112/113 are and also around 102
Seat installation started Oct. 1 - it's barely been three weeks. There are boxes of seats stacked up near 101 so they'll probably be continuing there.
Hmm... I dont think they will get all of the seats installed for the opener at this rate. I hope they have a plan for speeding things up.
True but they have been working on these things for a while, I remember seeing in 1 of the earlier stadium tour videos of the workers doing a lot of work on the inside, the locker rooms were getting all the walls put up and this must have been 2 or 3 months ago, so I'm sure that most if not all those thing aren't far from being finished. With over 5 months to go before opening day and with them going at a decent speed they'll be finished WAY before opening day. When they started they were doing about a section per day... And if things do get a bit rough, I'm sure there will workers doing nothing but installing seats from here to opening day but I really doubt they would need it
you can now see them working on the west roof on the interior camera - see those ropes hanging down. i think i also see what looks like a frame for the video screen (wow!) over sec 218 or so, although it's partially obscured by a beam in the foreground.
Depending on the lighting fixtures used, there may need to be a "burn in" time where the lights are left on for x-amount of time determining if any are faulty, etc.
Right on both. They started the roof on Tuesday, I think. Also, they are on pace to do one section a day this week. Looks like the bottom is about 25% done.
Here's a better look at the video screen frame over section 218: http://redbullsreader.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/rbagrass12.jpg
