Ok here's the afternoon pic... Got a few more chairs in... by Turkey time the stadium should have it's beautiful field ready and most if not all the chairs installed. Just need to install the last section of the roof and finish all the details
guess it only takes a little over a day to finish one section? how many sections are there? like 60ish?
This might be a dumb question from a California guy, but why are they going to be the sod in now and not wait until after your New York winter season? I am happy I get to see a green field soon, but keeping up that field in the winter has to be harder.
The first pic I took was around 12pm, this last picture was just after 3pm... so for a whole section I'm guessing it takes about 4-5 hours to install. So I guess saying about 1 day is pretty accurate which means about 2 months to install everything. But I'm sure once other jobs are completed more workers will be assigned to chair duty, which should speed up the process.
good time to get some roots down before the winter.... not much (if any) growing season before the season starts in March...
Also what are they doing with he holes in the in the seating sections at the end of the field. I assume they are being closed in with seating once the internal field work is done but is one of them going to be left open for field maintenance?
Those are service tunnels and will remain open, 2 at each end. They need those to bring large objects and vehicles in and out of the field area.
Those are tunnels, for storage of equipment, goals, etc. May also be a second set of locker rooms, though I am not sure about that. In any case, I expect there will be some sort of canvas covering over those areas when the stadium is complete.
Actually those are there specifically because of stadium regulations. They're basically escape tunnels in case of emergency. There is a specific name for them, but I forgot what it is.
Don't forget that those are also considered handicap entrances for those in the lower level near the field. There are seats in those corner areas on the field and some space that are inbetween the seats for those in wheelchairs and need walkers to get over there.
