Cristiano Ronaldo is still serving a suspension after his incident with the referee in the Spanish Super Cup, but Marco Asensio is expected to return after suffering a minor injury that kept him out of the squad for the Apoel game. Marcelo misses the game after his red card against Levante therefore new signing Theo Hernandez from city rivals Atletico Madrid is expected to come into the XI for the trip to Sociedad.

There may be a bit of Europa League lag to shake off for Real Sociedad after their 4-0 humbling of Roseborg, so rotation could be on the mind of manager Eusebio Sacristán. Ińigo Martinez’s injury isn’t as bad as first feared and could return for the blue and white spaniards. Asier Illaramendi is also in contention to start against his former club.

Mateo Kovacic to Miss Up to 2 Months for Real Madrid with Leg Injury.

    Predicted line-ups
Real Sociedad: Rulli; Odriozola, Elustondo, Martinez, Rodrigues; Prieto, Illaramendi, Zurutuza; Januzaj, Jose, Juanmi.

Real Madrid: Navas; Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Hernandez; Kroos, Casemiro, Modric; Asensio, Bale, Isco.

Must win game. Any points dropped pretty much puts us way too far behind to catch up. I don't see Barca squandering a 7 point lead if we let up. Hopefully Gareth, Asensio and Isco can make things happen. There's still plenty of quality to get that W.

It's early but he's right, we don't want to start too far behind. It'll put us in a tough situation later when we need to rotate etc.

He said we'd be too far behind to catch up, which is ridiculous thing to say in mid-September.

What's going on with Vallejo, his injuries are looking worrying.

Time to see what Dani Ceballos is made of. I expect him to start.

It's between him, Lucas and Llorente for the final spot.

When I heard we were bringing him back I posted about that as a worry but I didn't think he'd be injured so much this early, anyway no matter who let's get a win

Since we weren't buying another CB, I preferred Diego Llorente to stay with us this season and Vallejo to be loaned, just to prove he could stay somewhat fit for an entire season.

Will Bale get all the credit alone if we win or will he only get all the blame if we drop points?

If he actually starts to resemble a 300k per week next Ballon D Or player, then he will be void of any blame. Okay?

This is Bale's game to shine. He has done well in Anoeta in recent years so definitely a good place to get his confidence back.

I expect Ceballos to start this unless Zidane decides to go with 2 DMs. Mayoral should start as well.

Ok, we're all fcking bullshitting and every game we're like "This is Bale's game to shine. He needs to score to regain his confidence". Lol. "Ronaldo is gone, now Bale needs to step up and show that he can lead" .

Every game is for every player to shine.

Well this part is already the norm isn't it, take for instance the CL " winning" goal after a completely atrocious game, as has been noted though personally I could care less who steps up I just want us to win and get three points
