Lingard making a big jump in progress this season. www.skysports.com/football/news/11667/11192630/jesse-lingard-is-making-a-jump-in-progress-at-manchester-united
Did this actually happen or just media hype? and who is Tigana? Sir Alex Ferguson predicted Jesse Lingard’s big breakthrough back in 2012 👀 pic.twitter.com/LjiqGMYUjc— B/R Football (@brfootball) January 2, 2018
Jean Tigana was a great DCM for the French national team in the 80s, alongside the likes of Platini, Giresse, Bossis, Amoros etc... Very slight guy like Lingard, but his stamina was just sick: the guy would run and run all day and was vital in his role tbh.
Lingard is the most improved player in the Prem - McClaren www.skysports.com/football/news/11667/11192942/jesse-lingard-is-the-most-improved-player-in-the-premier-league-steve-mcclaren Would argue that Sterling, in all honesty, is probably the most improved player in the league so far this season (his level of performance is right up there with the very best at the moment), but Lingard really ought to be in the conversation for sure, as he's clearly taken his game to a whole new level this season.
Yep, I agree especially with the Sterling part. Not too long ago people were saying citeh wasted their money on him. This season he has been their second best player.
Sterling also gets credit for how he stepped up this season, given the competition for places on that City team. That he is simply mentioned as one of their best players after KDB so far is a telling achievement.
#MUFC's Player of the Month for December 👏#JLingz pic.twitter.com/CNWtxiadnb— Manchester United (@ManUtd) January 4, 2018
Just read back through this thread. Folks have a lot of humble pie to eat. My favourite thing about Jesse is that he so frequently gets played through at full pace. His timing is impeccable and his effort is tremendous. Spends so much time making decoy runs or being available. He won't be as effective with Lukaku in the game in tight matches, but if/when we move the ball quickly, he comes to the fore. His haters should look back at his goals. A lot of finishes in the corner or at the end of a nice move. He could almost get assist credit for goals he doesn't touch the ball in due to his dummy runs. Remains one of my favourite reds

If you look at Martials goal against Everton Jesses run takes the focus off of Tony and creates the space for Pogba to pass him the ball. Just superb!
Lingard has become an important player for United - Mourinho www.espn.in/football/club/manchester-united/360/blog/post/3333117/jesse-lingard-making-the-jump-from-promising-youngster-to-great-player
Ignore the pretentious old man. He may be a football legend, but its understandable casual or new fans may not have heard of him.
Yes, but google has heard of him. I've always been surprised at how willing people are to show ignorance when there's a quick answer just a click away.
Im sure you heard of google when you made those claims about Luis Enrique during the last sheep draft. Didnt stop you from being wrong and a dick about it. Educate him or ignore him. We already have to wade through a bunch of other bullshit on this forum.

There's that and also the recent successes of guys like Kane, Alli, Sterling and Lingard alone (among others), should tell something to Prem clubs regarding English talent, given the big success youth teams have recorded recently (last year especially).
two things i like about Lingard are: 1. how quickly he sorts the ball out from his feet and/or is ready for a first time shot 2. he already has an idea of what to do before the ball gets to him from his goal vs chelsea away (where Blind slipped in the 90+), to the FA Cup final goals to any of the other ones really you can see both points. i am glad that his often unnoticed or underappreciated work is finally getting the just rewards. a lot of viewers can't appreciate the work in the build up play and take the most simplistic view of assist & goal and nothing else. only difference now is he is the one on the end of some of his own good work so even people with the most basic view can realise that he contributes (i.e. with an assist or goal) the only question now is whether this is a purple patch or if he is a late bloomer and this will be his normal level. i am hoping for the latter so we can: a) keep one more of the home grown quota b) not have to spend any money on a backup
