I am confused. A newbie makes a joke (albeit a bad one). But why would that be red card worthy?

Continue with a PM to me if you wish....

I thought it was a brilliant first post. I hadn't thought about bringing him back. Now I wish we hadn't signed Kaka.

He had 15 goals for us in '07. I wouldn't mind having him back up top. Especially after the "offensive explosion" we had in '08. Just let Arnaud and Lopez feed him the ball.

But, it looks like he heading to Malmo (Swedish league).

I'm hoping that it was just a bit of a tongue-in-cheek joke on the part of BOTH posters (Sachsen and the OP...)

But in 06 he only scored 2 goals, and his form recently has been in the crapper. I'd be worried that if we were to happen to get EJ back, we'd have to deal with at least 1 if not more seasons like 06 before getting a season like 07.

Maybe Kaka is willing to pull a Piojo and lower his contract so we can make room...

Propobably. I am sure he realizes that he can learn a thing or two from EJ and that playing with other great players will raise his game to a level never seen before on his previous teams.

If I had to make a guess before the player is announced, I would look in the past of Lopez for someone he really likes playing with, or is a good friend. Then I would construct a conspiracy theory about how Lopez resigned for non DP in exchange for a KC reunion.

keep in mind about Johnson's 15 goal season that half of those goals came in only 3 games.

True. I don't have the stats in front of me, but I'm wondering how many games he had Marinelli as his attacking mid. I can't help but think EJ may have had 20 goals if they'd had a guy who could successfully pass the ball to the forwards at opportune times.

Especially since he is so lazy he almost needs good service to get a goal.

Since we're keeping things in perspective, keep in mind that half his goal total in '07 would have led the team last year.

Time to change the name of the thread to, "Somewhat close on signing a dude, possibly before the season begins."
