Everytime benz gets dropped. He bags a goal coming off the bench in next one or two games to cement hes place back in the team, rinse repeat .
I read on a BVB fanpage that he said he wanted to leave the club after the attack on the team bus, his family was worried and he wanted to get over the entire thing by leaving the club/country and being closer to home.
6 points above Sevilla with a game in hand. Feels like that worry of falling out of a CL spot has passed.
Cristiano isn't in his best form but having him scoring somewhat consistently right now does us wonders in the confidence department. That is the difference. Remember the matches in January when people were attacking the manager because we would lose 1-0 or draw a close match yet miss a ton of scoring opportunities? (I remember you defended Zidane) Well we just conceded 3 and bulldozed an in-form Betis side anyways.
Lucas continues to be underrated in my eyes. Weird win but nice to see some goals being scored. Hope Marcelo is ok, was hoping he'd be rested for this one.
For me Lucas is a decent squad player. He is not a #12 player (first off the bench that he currently seems to be). I'm ok with him being a rotation player, but he can't be our answer in a losing/drawing game situation. He has hunger and does the simple things right, but just lacks the quality that a James/Morata/Isco had last year.
The way Lucas is playing right now is as good as he has played for us, and it’s these performances mixed with his attitude that’s made him beloved by Madridismo. Think a lot of shit he has received has manily been due to poor form earlier in the season where he wasn’t doing the fundamentals effectively/consistently imo.
The team has had a different attitude the past two games from the rest of the season. They're responding well to adversity, where as we'd just fold when we go down. Zidane made a subtle switch in the second half. Kovacic moved a bit to the left, and Asensio dropped to a central role. Asensio was spectacular yet again in that role. I feel he's wasted out wide. He does well, but we're not getting the best out of him there. Kovacic was also fantastic in the second half. Carvajal had a good second half, but he's a major liability defensively. The second goal was a combination of mistakes, but the most glaring one is Dani criminal indecisiveness. He's neither going after the ball or covering the passing lane. He gives the ball holder tons of time to make a decision, then decides to go for the ball at the very end, leaving an easy passing lane. Had he done the right thing and gone after the ball from the start, he would have forced the player to make a quick decision under pressure. Even if the right pass had been made, the GK is expecting it and can go out to rush that player. The way he played, he left the ball holder tons of time to study his options and then make a pass, while the keeper can't cheat as he has to defend the possibility of the ball holder shooting. Carvajal has been making these piss poor decisions all season and the RB position needs to be strengthened in the summer. Legitimate competition needs to be brought in, and Achraf is most definitely not that.
C'mon @Zidane05 you should know if Bale missed a 1 v 1 it's because the grass is too long / short / wet / dry / green / etc., or the pass was too long / short / hard / soft / straight / curved / etc., But if it's Ronaldo - he declined over night and is ruining our season, and if Benzema then its Zidane's fault.
The first one definitely, played the ball too far ahead of himself and made an unprecise shot as a result, but the second one Adan covered the corner well. That would be funny if you wouldn't be breathing through your nose better than an olympic swimmer because of having James in your mouth 24/7.
James would have scored the chances Bale flubbed, and probably walked away with a couple of assists. A complete gulf in talent and class between the two @4x4s
Sure he may have been able to finish it but James wouldn't have gotten there in the first place with his inferior pace.
