Depends on your definition of 'semi-pro'. It's an amateur club.

It means they're in trials, just like you posted. With Shonan Bellmare. Probably because they paid a fair amount of money.

Dont think so, I checked out the clubs web site (SCFC).

My understanding is that semi pro have paid players, amature dont get zip! They have to pay fees to play.

Any way, how do you get to tryour for a Japanese Team - is it you pay money? I would of thought that they could make more money from young Japanese players not Aussies that have to travel 12 hrs?

    What do you think?

    :D

I think that Shonan got clowned on (84 goals against, -51 goal difference! which could be considered the worst in modern J-League history, if you want to disregard the 2-stage days and the 1995 season) and would sign my girlfriend's cat to a spot on the training squad at this point. Odds are they let him try out as a courtesy and may not have even charged him to lace up, but I doubt they'll sign him.

You have to be honest, Dok; your girlfriend's cat would even be banging them in for Barca or Real, if given the chance. I doubt Shonan could even dream of signing your girlfriend's cat.

Its the worst goal difference in J.League history, PERIOD.

However, there is a silver lining.
They share the record with one other team -- Ventforet Kofu 2001.

Then again, there is a dark lining to the silver lining.
Ventforet accomplished that record in 44 games - ten more than Bellmare.

Dokool's girlfriend's cat is DEFINITELY a candidate to play for them next year, as long as it knows how to cover the near post on a corner kick.

I don't believe Josh Taylor said that any of you are allowed to speak.

Josh Taylor once cured a man of epilepsy with a beautiful pinpoint free kick and then gave it back to him with a thunderous shot from midfield.

Josh Taylor can see into your soul

Josh taylor is not impressed with Chuck Norris

Josh Taylor is only impressed with Josh Taylor......even though Josh Taylor knows what Josh Taylor is capable of.

One caveat of Josh Taylor "trialing" with Shonan is that no one is allowed to look at him directly.....because he is white hot, like the sun, only stronger.

Do you remember that one time when Josh Taylor bought a new pair of cleats and bashed in a hobo's skull? Because that's the best way to break in leather.

He was right then and he's right now!

What the hell is this guy going to do to J2 defences? I say "this guy", but my informality is not even close to being appropriate - I do of course mean "this footballing ubermensch".

After he scored a double hat trick against Barcelona with his team three men down, Brisbane renamed their main intersection after Josh Taylor. They went back to the old name after dozens of people died trying to cross it, because nobody crosses Josh Taylor and lives to tell about it.

Josh Taylor cried once just to prove he could

His tears smelled like victory with a slight hint of cinnamon

Well . . . . I think the last two pages of posts have pretty much dragged this thread once and for all into the realm of farce and folly. I know that you guys are all just "joshing", but I doubt that anyone will be able to take the thread seriously, ever again, And there is only one person in the world who can take responsibility for that.

Thank you Josh Taylor. You are a legend!
You gave me the best Christmas present ever.

On a side note, the real contenders tried out starting today. 66 players had a few minutes to show their stuff.

Expect most of them to end up in J. League hopeful teams.

    Hello Moderators,

I would love to tryout for Hiroshima Team, I have no way to send you a Video now, but I have been watching them league on Tv and I am pretty completely sure that I can be over the average skills.

Im living in hiroshima right now, and I would love to do try outs before me and my wife go back to Mexico. I am 178, 75 Kilos, Fit, and skilled, I played long time in semipro leagues in Vancouver BC.

Can you set me up or tellme where they train, I want to walk in and try!!

    Thanks a lot
