It was a whatever assist TBH. Glad the fans like him though, sounds like overall he had a really solid game.
Raul had the strength to hold the ball and the vision to pass it to the open teammate. He could have jack up a shot but he was unselfish and had the composure to keep his head up and found a better situation for his teammate. Even before receiving the ball, Raul intelligently goes into the box and makes himself available. That is something he's gotten a lot better.
It’s a long season and I’m sure he can net at least 10 and a couple assists and that would be good for a mid table team striker I think... On the second goal he was being marked by two defenders and that left the other guy alone
Benfica are set on selling him. 35M€ is still a lot of money for an EPL club that isn't ManU, Chelsea, Liverpool, ManCity. Though he's been having his best season since he's moved to Europe he still needs to show more scoring abilities if he wants to convince a club to spend big on him. 2 goals in 7 games having started on every single one of them is a little short.
He displayed unselfishness as well as the presence of mind to pass the ball to a better positioned teammate when the temptation to take the shot himself from that short distance would've likely been too much for most others. More than a nondescript assist to me.

Watching people describe it like this feels like reading my friends’ padded up resumes. Nothing wrong with the choice he made. That was the right play but let’s be for real, he never had the temptation to shoot from that angle. Good decision from a team player. That’s it.

He had a nice little header that was stopped by the keeper right after his first assist. Great strike but it was a great stop as well.
I've yet to see chicharo succed and thrive, in my eyes he's only done enough to survive by getting a decent amount of minutes in the teams he's been on, same as Raul.
