This is for the group stages.

The ratings (on performances) can go from 1 (low) - 3 (as expected) - 5 (high).

Bolivia- 4.

Ecuador- 2. nada de "world class" mostraron.

because Uruguay did not show its supremacy in the group. a 1-0 win, a 0-3 loss and a 0-0 tie were not what Uruguay was expected to show.

In the other hand (in my opinion), Bolivia showed much more than most people expected. Tied two games and barely lost one (in a group with superior teams).

I wouldn't put Venezuela so high,
I think Bolivia might have been better than Venezuela

    Venezuela tied 1 game
won 1 with some help from the referee
    3rd game was a joke

That's all that Venezuela did on the 1st round.

Venezuela's participation was very deceiving in this Copa America. Aside from one game, where they were fortunate that the ref didn't call that penalty, they really weren't much. I think Bolivia should have gone through instead of them.

Same with Chile. They had one good half against Ecuador and that's about it.

I think with these two quarterfinals games, they got rid of the two weakest teams and it showed on the field.

exactly yeah they played better than what people expected but they still only got 2 so they shouldnt get a better rating than teams that actually made it trough

I love these even the QF are played.

    Group A

Uruguay-2 (Bad 1st game and struggled)
Peru-3 (Knew they would be in second)
Venezuela-4 (Good for a team that's prefered baseball)
    Bolivia-3 (Played well)

    Group B

Brazil-2 (Robinho was the only guy doing it before the massacre against Chile)
Mexico-5 (Impressed me despite me hating on Hugo Sanchez)
Chile-2 (Injuries and dumb coaching plagued them)
Ecuador-3 (They were better than Chile but failed to get a point)

    Group C

    Argentina-5 (The future champs)
Paraguay-5 (This team impressed me as well)
Colombia-3 (Two killer losses but regained a little in the end)
USA-2 (Not the same USA in the Gold Cup)

    Group A

Uruguay-3.5 Oscar Tabarez saved the team from exiting too early. now they got the time to sync, perhaps they'll prove they aren't paper tigers?
    Peru-2.5 lucky team, mediocre quality.
Venezuela-3 cruised through group stage due to ideal setup... against synchronized uruguay they proved to be everything critics expected.
Bolivia-2.5 as bad or as good as peru but not so lucky

    Group B

Brazil-4 they survived while unsynchronized. now they're dangerous
Mexico-3 lucky win against an unsynchronized brazilian team. as their fatigue adds up, mexico overall quality shall start to decline.
    Chile-2 stupidest coach in copa
Ecuador-2 got screwed. but they also didn't finish last in the tourney.

    Group C

Argentina-4 4-3-1-2 still weak in defense. although better than most other offensive formations. 3-5-2 V shape midfield is probably safer...
Paraguay-3.5 I think their style is too negative. never the less, to successfully build a team around any doctrine takes a good football federation
Colombia-2.5 more often than not they're undisciplined and lose in the most retarded ways. no difference this copa. such a waste of their wonderful talents.
    USA-3 future looks good

they would of had a much harder time if the tournament wasn't arranged this way, and if uruguay sync'ed up earlier. That's what I meant by "cruised", they had a relatively easy route, and met very few obstacles before QF.

IMO they're also better than peru. that why i gave them 3 instead of 2.5 :)

This game reminded me of Colombia-Paraguay game. Everything went Mexico way. Paraguay recently beat Mexico in a friendly just like Colombia had previously beat Paraguay in a friendly....

IMO mexico is overrated. their 2 best game 1 was against a disorderly team, another beating a dead fish after their lucky break at 2nd minute.

now it's the B-team and Ironman arguments.

you beat paraguay by a lucky draw of foul and card. get the fact straight.
I expected the game to go into a 1-1 or scoreless tie and PSO.

    In the dirt eh?

You know they went into ET and only lost because Rodriguez scored what had to be the most difficult goal in the cup.

    Newer squad eh?

Most of those guys were in Germany. Nice try... thanks for coming:)

mexico used their 2 other subs (not counting the first sub to take out injured Pardo) to modify their formation from 3-4-1-2 into a defensive 4-3-3 with 7 people defending by 70th minute.
Those modification and pekerman's offensive upgrades (tevez for crespo , aimar for cambiasso and messi ) could of been made much earlier. and would of been made earlier if there wasn't OT.

Mexico got a lucky goal before argentina warmed up. that was like a preemptive equalizer, and allowed them to fall back. they wanted to get into PSO, proven by the substitutions. and that wish wasn't granted because maxi's goal.

good luck getting that early goal again. otherwise wait to see the same result peru and paraguay got for turtling from the start.
