With his priors, he most likely would have never had the opportunity to commit this crime had he been a POC. It's till mindboggling to think this guy won't see the inside of a jail cell, even taking into account extreme white privilege.
1030740409629192192 is not a valid tweet id Extreme male white privilege is being called an amazing hubby after annihilating your family.
By his wife on Facebook before it happened. The headline was going for irony. Just checked and the social media angle is pulled down from the headline.
He was otherwise described elsewhere in terms that were equally positive without the connotation to his spouse's Facebook post. The way family annihilators tend to be reported upon is problematic in general.
I actually checked the school's site to see what the mascot was. Titans. Was hoping to see "Roofers", but I can't say I'm surprised not to. I think that may have been intended to be an expression of surprise. It was almost certainly considered a good line to get clicks.
Yeah, possibly. I see they've changed it now but, tbh, it seemed a reasonably straightforward report. I think people would have to be suffering from some sort of mental issue to imagine they were actually saying he was an 'amazing hubby'.
Didnt see this coming: Actress and director Asia Argento, a leading voice in the #MeToo movement, quietly paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to her own sex assault accuser — a former child actor who once played Argento’s son, a report said Sunday. Argento — among the first women to accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault — recently agreed to pay $380,000 to actor and musician Jimmy Bennett, who claimed that she sexually assaulted him in a California hotel room in 2013, when he was 17, according to The New York Times. https://pagesix.com/2018/08/19/asia...zqf-bA1BSjaJ8lYjNBmWR5aVLgFlOFjlZE742vCbK5ozq
Wow. You don't see women doing that very often. I assume Anthony Bourdain knew .. which makes his outrage at Weinsten seem, erm, somewhat forced.
Arabic-American doctor in Houston gets no jail time for raping a patient (who happened to be Latina). And you know, unlike Brock Turner, this story will come and go. If the crime doesn't involve rich white people, it ain't going to get much coverage. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...nced-him-to-probation/?utm_term=.29e0e1217cf0
I believe Weinstein has a total of 87 accusers that we know of so far. One of them being an sexual predator herself does not excuse his crimes.
I wasn't responding to anyone in particular in this thread, more the general tone of some of the articles that have come out in response to the story. There is a certain level of whataboutism or some sort of weird conclusion that this discredits the entire #MeToo movement.
I hardly find the fact that women can be sexual predators too is surprising. I simply think the fact that Asia Argento was one of the catalysts to the #MeToo movement ironic.
