He is. Then again, if a belligerent college asshole punches out a male, people largely shrug. And if it happens in high school, no penalties at all.

My point is not to plead for this guy. In contrast, assuming that her story is correct, prosecute him to the full extent of the law. But violence is violence. Let's get them all.

How is that on 'the same note'? Some stranger starts shouting after you in public and that's the same thing as somebody who's supposedly 'a friend' meeting in a pub?

    That's completely different, obviously.

Shouting after a complete stranger I'd say has always been 'threatening', albeit in a relatively mild form depending on the circumstances, obviously.

If you want to talk to someone, of either sex, go up and talk to them but shouting after them? That's just creepy.

Toxic masculinity, male entitlement, male violence, rape culture... This story is about so many concepts that many people deny the existence of.

This new pop-up bar has a message that is meant bring awareness to being roofied in bars. I don't know if it is taking the correct tact, but I am interested in seeing how these converstions go.

Pills aside, that looks like it belongs in the hand of a guy wearing a romper. Anybody else here remember when a bartender was someone who could pour a decent shot and leave it at that?

Update: Been removed from the menu. http://www.businessinsider.com/cocktail-bar-removes-pill-cosby-drink-from-menu-2017-5

I'm interested in seeing the rest of their drink menu. They're a DC bar, which makes Barry relevant, but Dave Chappelle, Duke Ellington and Marvin Gaye? What's the connection? Have they been in business long enough to have served all these men?

Marvin Gaye had a house in Belgium, up on the North Sea coast not far from Oostende. The place had all kinds of shrubs shaped into musical instruments.

He actually lived in Moere (a very small place), though most people in Oostende try to pretend it was Oostende.

What was that all about? Strange. Anyway, the tennis authorities didn't shilly-shally around with that one, out he went.

    https://www.theguardian.com/society...erous-our-father-killed-our-mother-and-sister

This is a very important piece of writing. The two surviving family members, brothers, of a family annihilator who killed his wife and his daughter. It deals with the brothers' feelings in the aftermath, but also with how the media tends to report on such crimes.

This thread is the women;s issues thread right?

It does not say specifically where the court ruling was (USA or Israel), at least I did not see it on the article.

But hopefully this applies to all western bound carriers.

They should make the guy move to another seat, since he's the one acting like a 9-year-old boy having to sit next to a girl with cooties.

    Pretty much.

I once saw this fictitious 40 seconds or so video where a Black man was moved to First Class because some Scottsboro Girl didn't want to sit near him. Lol, what happened to the Israeli woman is more realistic.

Gotta love the ultra-orthodox among my tribe. Actually no you really don't. Some of the rudest people I have had to be around.

Do they have a bunch of dietary restrictions to adhere to? I can imagine how being kept away from pork, shellfish and alcohol (like them damn S-DAs) would make anybody rude...

They are hard line followers of kashrut which are the Jewish dietary laws. If you weren't them then they had no time for you. My dad had a suite in the diamond exchange for decades so I had a lot of exposure to them. Not a fan.

They walked backwards when the plane unloads. Never saw that before ... the black hatters who had luggage that was behind their seats didn't wait for the others to leave. They barged into the isle and pushed the standing people out of the way. Which put them into very close contact with some females, now that I think of it.

They're #1 on my wife's hit list for rude tourists, ahead of mainland Chinese, Germans, and Englishmen who flew Ryanair.

I was thinking of that Euro guy who blames Muslim immigrants for everything in Sweden, and googled to see if the suspects were Muslim immigrants. Score one for him -- they were. Too bad that.
