I'm interested to see if Ranieri goes with some flavor of 4-4-2 which may work better given our midfielders. Also, it might be a way of getting Schick going
Coincidence that Manolas has a 3 week injury immediately after Claudio returns? He punched Claudio when he coached Greece.
This move does not make any sense at all. What is Ranieri going to do ? Play conservative football till the end of the season and hope for 1 goal wins ? Unless the team was completely over De Francesco then it would of been better just to deal with him at the end of the season.

Love Claudio, and happy to see him given one last opportunity to go out with. There's a rumor that there's a technical director option for him at the end of the season if he doesn't stay on as coach. He did an excellent job for Chelsea, paving the way for Joses core as well as having 2 good years at Monaco. Those are just off hand. I'm sure he had some success in the years previous to get the Chelsea job.

Exactly! Everytime I see Zaniolo producing magic is when he pushes to the center and gets comfortable. I was not sure why EDF kept playing him on the right.
4312 but yes he was playing next to another striker. The only way I see Dzeko/Schick playing together with Zaniolo down the middle at the same time is if we play a 4312.

Yeah, I know he was a SS/DLF at Samp. It probably suits his game better. I just mean 4-4-2 is basic as hell (at least Claudio's version) , and if it works , I'm gunna laugh. Especially with Dzeko and Schick working well together like 5% of the time under EDF. Might actually help Florenzi too, assuming we start him at RM.
With a lot of things in life I'm a big believer in KISS. Especially when things aren't going well; simplify things and work on doing the basics to perfection.
