guess before EA's press conference today. Skate 4 reveal, it will be a service instead of a full game. Each level will be 20 bucks a pop and the first level, most likely a school or rec center is out today! Free for EA Origin/Access members
Xbox One X will be available on November 7th worldwide and will be $499 in the USA. No word on pricing anywhere else. You get what you paid for so I am not too bothered about the price especially if you can afford a 4K television.
The X is interesting, but as someone who only owns an Xbox I'd probably buy a PS4 or Switch before getting a better Xbox. Lot's of games and exclusive that Xbox showed off though which was damn nice. Outside of the Porsche thing which was short there were no gimmicks. Assassin's Creed, Metro, and State of Decay excited me. I'll keep an eye on review for some other games though
Incredibly underwhelming conference from Microsoft. And at $500 the scorpio is DOA. Where the ******** are all the first party exclusives? All those games are timed and will be coming to all platforms. $500 for 4k indie machine, yea, no thanks. And the name, LUL, Microsoft is so out of touch
Boring E3. Slightly looking forward to Nintendo's conference, because of Mario Odyssey. I dont even care that much about new games that may or may not be announces. Just wanna see some gameplay of Mario. That's what I got the Switch for.
Probably the best conference has to have been Ubisoft, though it is crazy how all of their games appear to be embracing the Far Cry game mechanic. Not to mention that Mario/Rabbits game looks way out of left field and would definitley be must buy if I had a Switch and that reveal was great.. Best games so far revealed for myself has gotta be; Anthem, Battlefront 2 and Wolfenstein 2. Really everything looked great in Wolfenstein 2 and that end of the trailer with the guy dropping Acid. What? I had no idea until after the fact that the COD trailer shown at Sony's press conference was for multiplayer. OH! hands down A Way Out a game where story and gameplay revolves around co-op split screen even in online play is the most innovative idea this E3. half hour of Mario Odyssey will be fun to look at.
So there's going to be a new Beyond Good & Evil game? That's great news if done well! Considering I have given up on Half-life 3 and strongly doubt that Microsoft will ever revive Freelancer, that leaves the "No One lives forever" - franchise for a reboot I would look forward to the most. One can but hope.
Came away from their press conference feeling that Sony is now focusing more on PSX instead of E3 to reach out to their community. It was telling that they ended their pre-show with an announcment of dates for this years PSX.
It starts w Sitar Hero, as a prelude to the new Uncharted game. Bunch of game trailers. Guy in suit with overstarched collar. More trailers. Guy comes back out. Last bit of trailers. You say spectacular. I say it was amazing, maybe even sensational.
Mario Odyssey looks odd in a great way. Wedding planners are bosses? You inhabit bullet bills? both 3D and 2D play. Just great stuff from Nintendo. Also cool to see Rocket League will be coming to the Switch too. A real cool aspect of E3 I forgot to mention that had me keen was the news about Minecraft going almost full cross platform play. Be fun to log in through my xbox and play with my nephews on their Mac. Stupid move by Sony to say no to joining up with everyone else.
Friendly neighborhood I saw a Destiny 2/Nvidia bundle announced yesterday, still waiting for the D2/PS4 bundle to sway my decision.
Anthem answers the age old question: what if a game was like Destiny, but in 3rd person? Looks to me like Bioware has conceded defeat to Frostbite. If they're gonna have to keep using it, then they're gonna just have to make a game that it's designed for.
Sounds like opening E3 up to the public is a success, though it doesn't sound like the ESA or companies prepared for the extra foot traffic. Really should have had a day or two for the press and business partners before opening up to the public like Gamescom does. Sony was asked why they didn't join in on cross platform play with Nintendo, Microsoft, and PC; here is their response: Eurogamer link
