Does a green card mean you're not treated as an international? So technically, I could play for the Galaxy and not take up an IR spot, even though I only carry a UK passport (at present)?
Indeed it does. MLS initially started by making only passport holders domestic but someone stepped in and reminded them that you cannot legally differentiate between a citizen and a green card holder (though there are some government agencies and jobs that require citizenship), so they've gone with that since. In today's MLS, many teams must have some very good immigration attorneys since there are many instances of players obtaining their green card only after a year of being in the US. I don't know how it all works but players are getting their green card MUCH faster these days. Tangentially, passport/green card holders is one of the protected classes, and another protected class, nationality, is why we can't treat Canadians as domestic on US clubs.

"This list is centered less on statistics and more on when the goalkeeper played in the league. If the goalkeeper played a number of games well past his prime, or too far in front of it, then his time in his league isn't as valuable as certain goalkeepers with less appearances." What the hell does that even mean? I think the writers must have been high when they wrote this.

Looks like Gio is really stepping up his PR game. Let's hope we see that same growth manifest itself on the field... The only place that matters.

KTLA 5 had a segment where they had a bunch of Galaxy Gear and were giving away 4 tickets w/ parking, among other things, to the home opener. The whole thing was very quick but, was good to see some exposure for us. One of the anchors said the Galaxy are like the Lakers of soccer... then he got made fun of cause he was wearing his scarf like a sash.

I read excerpts - they are linked in the US forums. I feel like I subtracted brain cells. My advice, unless you want to think less of Jones, don't read it.
Seconded. I think he's a bit misguided at times and I generally hate hot takes but I find myself agreeing with most of his points. He had a bad game against Panama but the double standard he faces is odd.
