That's not that the tweet means to say. It's written poorly.

It's trying to say that Wenger is interviewing with Kroenke in Colorado to replace Gazidis at Arsenal.

Gazidis doesn't work for the Rapids, so Wenger can't be interviewing to replace him there.

I assumed that Josh Kroenke would take over as the CEO if Gazidis left.

The problem is, none of us really know how important Gazidis is to the overall operation. That's the scary part...

For those of you who get GolTV on your cable line-up, and in case you didn't notice it, they started carrying Arsenal Media content towards the end of last season and it seems to be continuing: mainly Arsenal World, Arsenal 360... but also I just noticed Arsenal Pre-Season Review (Singapore) and the Lazio match popped up in the last few days.

All of this is available on-line of course, if you go looking for it. But for those of you like me, who still rely heavily on your DVR, this content on GolTV is a nice bonus.

Shout out to @Jeff L. I smiled when I saw him pop up on the first episode of Arsenal World.

Just watching my other team play up in Montreal.

And guess who is starting at RB for the Impact? Bacary Sagna!

And they're managed by Remi Garde.

Edit: happy for Bac that he scored his first MLS goal, just not that it buried us!

I'm still amazed that this kind of story shows up in my local newspaper, and I get to read it at the breakfast table. Almost makes me think for a second that I'm living in London again. Sadly no.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/17/sports/soccer/arsenal-shares-kroenke.html

One theme in this piece is that the onesy-twosy shareholders of AFC PLC are holding on to their shares to the bitter end. And in one case, the Danish Supporters club, they would rather keep the paper then receive the $37,000 compensation!

p.s. I'm cross-posting this in the Leveraged Sellout thread, where it may get a few more eyeballs.

Sol Campbell has finally landed a managerial job. Macclesfield Town at the bottom of the 4th tier.

A tough job to save them perhaps. But frankly I think that's probably a better place to start a career than the way that Henry & Skolsjaer chose.

Time will tell, and I have my doubts about Sol as a manager, but I sincerely wish him good luck.

    Missed this, but OMG:

Nelson hasn't played all that much, but for an 18 year old to do this in the Bundesliga is nuts. He needs like a 15 year deal.

Interesting that Iwobi has a terrible statistical profile: he looks really good when he plays, but the data suggests that he's kind of pointless. Am I not paying attention when watching the games, or is the data missing something?

I’m not saying he’s same level but how did iniesta look on these charts?

Iwobi imo works hard and dribbles well I to space and plays good through balls

He shoots better too this year imo

Seems strange he is completely dwarfed but I heard reiss plays musktiple positions in a fluid system? Iwobi imo should start lw for us as he has a small sample size to look at atm

Does per 90 inflate a lot of stuff like basketball can for players with high stats in lower minutes?

Thanks for sharing this. The way our players have been mercilessly attacked over the years, and what it's done to the careers of several players, is both saddening and maddening. Add Diaby and Eduardo to that list for similar targeting reasons with horrible outcomes. Ramsey is actually lucky to be able to play at such a high level after this. The same couldn't be said for Diaby and Eduardo.

I get that modern football is a fast and extremely physical game. Injuries happen. I wish there was a way to punish particularly violent players and incidents beyond the standard red card and subsequent suspensions. The fact that Shawcross was doing what he was instructed, and likely praised for his actions by his club is just infuriating.

TL;DR...is this similar to the New Orleans Saints bountyhunting?

No. The saints captains put monetary rewards on knocking opposition players out of the game.

Sean Payton was suspended for an entire season because of that. I know the NFL can be really arbitrary about fines and suspesions, but I doubt that Payton would be suspended that long unless he was aware but ignored the bounties, or even supported them.

Regardless - as a Vikes fan and a Gooner, I know all too well about my team taking cheap hits that not only lose us games, but often change the trajectory of the entire team for years to come.
