I'm on Prince Street in SoHo today with my g/f grabbing some lunch, doing some shopping. Anyway we're walking down the street and towards me come a couple, both tall black guy with a brunette. They walk past us and my g/f remarks what a nice looking couple they are and how tall the girl is. Anyway I look and "HOLY SH*T that's Thierry Henry" he's walking down a crowded fuhkin street in NYC and NOBODY recognizes him so I yell out "Thierry Henry" he turns around I say "Thierry Henry, Arsenal Forever" and he flashes a smile and gives me a thumbsup. Mind you NOBODY else even looked at him. Dude that sh*t made my day. I've been to Highbury and watched him play, and I ran into him and Vieira at the Delano in Miami when they were both with Arsenal but this was even sweeter because when I saw him in Miami he wasn't yet Titi Henry. That sh*t made my day I texted everyone of my boys that are Gooner fans. I love NY.
That is ridiculous. That's one of the best things about living in/near NYC. I've always secretly hoped I would run into a footballer on the streets of manhattan. I even had a dream once, where I ran in to Steven Gerrard in Times Square and I told him to Fvck off...I'm serious lol.
thats nothing, i once saw liam ridgewell in the jam house dele adebola going into the bookie andy johnson in my local shopping centre pick one lol
He's not getting much time w/ Barca these days. NY Red Bulls is my bet. Anyway, OP, that is ********ing brilliant!
I've actually heard a bunch of rumors saying he'd like to the Red Bulls when his Barca contract ends. No way Barca would let him leave before then without a fee, and New York wouldn't be able to spend what it would require.
He's got a year left on his Barcelona deal. With his production and minutes dwindling this season, i'm sure they'd love to get rid of his 7 million Euro a year contract.
Seeing Henry in a Red Bull shirt is a disturbing thought. I had a similar encounter with Emmitt Smith in downtown DC a few years ago. It's very cool to randomly bump into your sports heroes where you least expect it.
That's a cool story. I always hear about footballers saying they love going on "holiday" in the US because they don't get too bothered by people as hardly anyone notices them.
