Borre played 10 minutes today, his first appearance in quite some time.

Even though he played pretty well in his first few matches, he played himself out of the lineup with his poor finishing. Sansone, Bakambu, and even Pato (to an extent) put went on mini tears a couple months ago.

With the three of them cold as ice right now, this is Borre's chance to convince everybody.

He finally scored! Took advantage of a defender's error. Villareal beating Roma 1-0 in Europa League.

Yeah. And he's actually playing pretty electric right now. Like he's the only one who thinks they can tie it up.

Hopefully this gets him more opportunities in La Liga. The guy always plays with heart

None of them have truly been convincing. Sansone has been the best, but he's gone a month and a half without scoring. Bakambu was decent before going to AFCN.

Most definitely. It's his finishing though. With so many strikers on the squad, as you said, the errant finishing looms large.

    Great game though.

The only similarity is suspect finishing. But even that's different. Cordoba has no clue how to weight his shots; Borre overthinks things.

Cordoba is a physical monster. He's comfortable on the ball anywhere in the attacking 3rd and can run by and through any defender. His problem has been and always will be his brain. The kid just doesn't have a very high soccer IQ.

Borre, on the other hand, has astounding awareness of the run of play for someone his age. Cali used to field him as a 10 sometimes, and he's had no problem adapting to the European game.

It's a pretty safe bet Borre will start a few matches for the NT before his career is over. Can't say the same for Cordoba.

the finishing was the only thing I meant by that. I agree with everything you've said.
