60 minutes played and only one goal scored so far. Falcao is having a bad day. :(

2 after putting away a penalty. To be fair though Falcao has been anonymous other this game and his first was a tap in from a rebound, but he was in a good place. Not necessarily Falcao's fault, the Monaco have been in control the whole game even with much less possession, the went up early and have been happy to sit back soak up pressure and counter attack with Lille making mistakes.

I've seen a lot of Monaco and Falcao's games this season and although he's finished chances well, overall his performances haven't been barn burners and many games he hasn't been involved as much as I'd like except for poaching. I think this highlights that we're going to be better off if we can get Falcao a strike partner to allow him to float into spaces and goal poach, hopefully it can be Muriel Imo.

You have to remember that he's over 30 years old. And if you score 11 goals in 7 games it doesn't matter how you score them, it's not just luck. He might not be as explosive as he used to be when he was younger but he reads the game and postitions himself perfectly all the time.

Oh by no means is it just luck, there is definitely a skillset to be being a pure goal scorer like Falcao is. But we need to keep in context that he's not just going to be a goal machine for Colombia, he needs service and he can't be isolated, these poacher goals tend to lend itself to playing another more active forward beside him, drawing attention and allowing him to move into dangerous space without being too involved in the build up.

To get him at his best we'll need to play to his strengths, and to do that we need to get someone playing close to him, we can't fit a square peg into a round hole is my only point, Falcao needs a strike partner to be at his best.

Falcao right now is the BEST in form player. Most consistent hard working prolific striker in the world. Let's start worrying about the other 10.

In some ways he may be better than ever. He has confidence and he has always had good positioning and of course skills to put it in the back of the net. Things just seem to be clicking for him right now.

I am so hoping that he can be to us what Forlan was for Uruguay in 2010. An offensive minded warrior that wills his team deep into the tournament with goals, guts, and leadership.

Wasn’t he like insanely old? Falcao will be 32 at the World Cup. If he goes to Qatar then that is a diff story. Tho with current CF prospects I don’t see that as that unlikely.

So sad that Jackson just stepped off the face of the earth and Bacca just never lived up to potential. As for Muriel think he is a super over rated/hyped less talented version of Bacca.

We needed CBs and we were blessed with Mina and Davison. That Cuesta Kid from Nacional looks pimp too. Come on lord give us LBs, Gks and strikers next pleas :)

Drogba was pretty good at 36 so it's possible for Falcao to still be a good striker at that age.

I don't understand the comparison between Bacca and Muriel, they have almost nothing in common, besides being fast and colombian. Muriel has better ball control and can play as a striker, behind the strikers or as a winger, but he is not a clinical finisher. Bacca is better inside the box but outside the box he is mostly useless.

I'm so happy to see Falcao plays like this and enjoy football like the old days. No player in the world deserve ls to be in Russia than Falcao. I couldn't believe that he will return his old form back but you know what? I was wrong. Today Falcao can play in any club on this planet and it says it all.

27... but yea man big difference between athletes especially soccer players and regular people. Players are basically done after 32/33. For him to still be that good at 36 would be incredible for us but even if he makes it to the next WC he shouldnt be our main attacking threat.
