Good info on Pride. Hadn't heard of him. Though his Wikipedia page that called him "one of the top youth prospects for that year [1986]" is unsubstantiated. Seems like he was a promising U-16 dude good enough for the national team. If there was an MLS back then he may have made it to the pros. But there's still no Kyler Murray or Drew Henson- guys who are offered contracts to teams in the highest leagues of their sports. Still no one with offers to play in both the Bundesliga or Premiership, but also the NBA/NFL/MLB (football kickers don't count because the skill needed is pretty much the same).
And that is why this great comeback thing is crazy to me. This was no knoblauch/Ankiel thing, no Montana after Pepper Johnson, the fall from grace was getting balls deep in random/basic chicks instead of being a good husband. I mean it wasnt even drugs or booze. I don't have a favorite golfer like I don't have a favorite chess player, cause I watch sports not competitions or board games. I have always hated golf, I get it from my dad, who was a track/boxing guy who had no respect for golf. I refuse to play golf even to kiss up to clients like I know friends to do.
Again, the comeback if from health issues, not personal issues. There was actually a chance he would have trouble walking, let alone playing golf. The rest of it is tabloid fodder.
Correct. Tiger's comeback was about 10% redemption from the spectacle of his personal life and 90% being so physically broken there was a serious question about whether he'd ever swing a club again.
Plus having to retool his game because the older recovered body could not execute his old style.12 was a perfect example.Molinari and Finau failed where young Tiger would have succeeded.Old Tiger played it safe and took his 4.
My concern is for real athletes really injured not playing an obscening amount of money paying sport. There are Track guys with bad knees that had to call it a career early without his money. I am sorry, I just don't have it for him. I mean what about an Al Toon, former WR for NY Jets, who retired early due to concussions and doesn't have a near billion to retire on or Ato Boldin, the track legend.
What does this sentence mean? Sadly, that's an inherent risk with that sport (both aspects: the type of injury and the relative lack of remuneration due to track not being valued very highly by the public/sponsors). What about him? Concussions and short productive careers are such a prominent feature of football, it cannot possibly be a surprise. It's the tradeoffs that get made. Tradeoffs.
Steve King has thoughts about the reaction in the House to his white supremacist views. “For all that I’ve been through — and it seems even strange for me to say it — but I am at a certain peace, and it is because of a lot of prayers for me,” King said in response. “And, when I had to step down to the floor of the House of Representatives and look up at those 400-and-some accusers, you know we just passed through Easter and Christ’s passion, and I have better insight into what he went through for us, um, partly because of that experience.”
So he's comparing himself to Jesus? So being nailed to a cross is exactly the same thing as being called on the carpet for saying you hate Teh Negroes.
My dad taught me to play when I was a kid. I still remember the first time I tied him on 9 and beat him on 18. He played until his arthritis wouldn’t allow him to hold a club, around 78 years old. Golf is a wonderful sport.
Where is the post about the white guy who switched from Obama to Trump because Obama was prejudice against White people.
I love the "Obama hates white people" theory. Like he hates half of his family roots. Yeah, I know, the one-drop rule negates that half, but it is stupid as hell, just like the people who believe that. And I honestly can't see anyone who would vote for Obama voting for Trump. Two totally different types. Like when McCain't people thought that having Sarah Palin on the ticket would attract the people who supported Hilary Clinton in the D primary and were still holding a grudge, so they'd vote for a woman...
