Anyway, in lieu of abolishing the song altogether, a compromise of rotating it with the Spanish version and the Black Anthem, would not be a bad idea. Something has to be done, that song does not feel like America in any way, shape or form.

The Dutch anthem could be sung by almost all people in the world as it embodies the longing to justice and freedom.
Our history however shows that people once fighting to liberate themselves from the power of a brutal and murderous regime have no hesitation to become one themselves. That's a human trait, not exclusively white human trait. The Indonesians you referred to had/have no problem killing and oppressing the Papua people and no problem murdering and oppressing East Timor for decades and no problem invading the Moluccan Islands when these wanted independency.
