Three teams that can't finish below us. 1. Atlanta 2. NYRB 3. NYCFC Possibly three more by end of the week.
I think the Fire will win 6 games with a tie added in, just to go into the final game of the season needing 1 pt against DC to make the playoffs. They will then lose on October 28th, 5-0 in front of a huge a crowd there to see Rooney. I have like 15 tickets for this game because I couldn't be bother to go to earlier games and my wife will be on the field after running the marathon for the Chicago Fire Foundation. A large group of my family and friends, along with about 20k other people will get to see my mental breakdown.
San Jose beat FC Dallas tonight San Jose 20pts in 26 games FIRE 24pts in 27 games Would have been interesting if San Jose held on to the lead or tied against Vancouver. Still not going to happen, but as long as Pauno is our coach anything is possible.
http://www.sportsclubstats.com/USA/Chicago.html The Fire are in some kinda garbage team limbo. A perfect win record won't guarantee us the playoffs and a perfect loss record won't guarantee us the wooden spoon. My guess is we'll either win until we can no longer get the spoon and then lose the rest or lose until we're out of the playoffs and then win the rest.
I thought you were doing a WC Williams homage This Is Just to Say I have wasted Bastian playing him on defense and not signing a single C.B. this season Forgive me they were expensive finding them was hard
Red Bulls (1.96) Atlanta (2.08) NYCFC (1.78) F_C_Dallas (1.81) all have at least TWICE as many PPG as the Fire. How the f*ck can a team with Bastian Schweinsteiger, Nikolic, Katai, McCarty and (now) DeLeeuw be this awful? Oh, yeah, two words: Veljko Paunović. It is his fault that this team is not even competitive. Blame 'shady' Nelson Rodriguez for not building up the defense or replacing Accam, and Hauptman for being Hauptman, but the game to game embarrassment that are your 2018 Chicago Fire is down to Paunović more than anybody else. If the Fire lose the race for the Wooden Spoon and become recipients of the Wooden Spoon, it will cement Paunović's place as the worst Chicago Fire coach, and probably the worst MLS coach, ever.
And 2 out of 3 years with Paunović as coach, despite having the 17th 4th 5th highest payrolls those three years.
When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide Where I stop and I turn and I go for a ride Till I get to the bottom and I see you again Do you, don't you want me to love you
There it is: The Official MLS Supporters' Groups Anthony Precourt Wooden Spoon Award with three plaques for the three years since the official award was given out. Looks awesome in any team's trophy case! Nice wood stain work on the trophy. 2015 Chicago Fire 2016 La Galaxy 2017 Chicago Fire 2018 ????
My bad! I deserve a wooden spoon myself for the goof!! 2015 Chicago Fire 2016 Chicago Fire 2017 LA Galaxy 2018 ???
We didn’t earn the spoon in 2014, but our combined 2014-2016 record was the worst three year span the league has ever seen.
Kudos to whoever came up with the idea of naming the Spoon "in honor" of Precourt.... It would be awesome to have an MLS executive come out and actually present the trophy at the end of the season. Garber presents the Supporter's Shield, so most likely the duty would fall to Mark Abbott. I don't think that would ever happen though. Something tells me the league officials don't have a sense of humor about the team finishing last in the league.
It was originally the Andrew Hauptman Wooden Spoon, but some people got angry so they decided they’d just change the name every year to the winning owner. Then Precourt announced the Austin move and they decided to make the permanent change.
