With Guedes sold I expect him to start to make the breakthrough Benfica spent a record amount on him and he isn't going anywhere
Everyone gets injured Jonas was out for 4 months and Mitroglou got 2 months With Mitroglou and Raul you have the national teams calling them up while Jonas is Brazilian and despite being called up just last year he is older and Brazil have moved on to Gabriel Jesus, Gabi Barbosa and Neymar
He'll be 26 in May... while it's true that injuries happen, he'll have to consolidate himself eventually if he wants a meaningful career in Europe. That streak he had a while ago won't be of use to him if it's back to square one when he comes back form injury. He's had three injuries (knee, groin, ankle sprain) this season alone which have made him miss 15 games in all competitions so far and counting.
Benfica beat Arouca 3-0 today. More important, Jiménez is back: he played in the last 23 minutes of the game.
Always disappointed when it comes to seeing the lineups... Teams always favour other nationalities over our boys. Jonas isn't even starting and he can't get a nod.
Wow...what the hell is going on?...he's been nothing but productive and is capable of scoring and holding and distributing the ball...he's the prototypical modern #9.
He barely came back from injury a few days ago, in the last match, that might have something to do with it.
Not a totally eventful 18 mins or so. He did cause a yellow for BD which is good. Benfica are fortunate to get the goal because their passing was really poor (65%), and the chance creation was really limited. Oh, and Ederson was insane today. A brick wall in goal. Hope they can pull out a draw, at least, on the road.
All the dude does is produce when he's healthy, and this is what he always returns to. Fvck this team.
Idk guys but usually when players returns from a long injury they play only a few minutes in the first few games to not risk getting re-injured sooooo yeah it's fine
