I really don’t like the standards for handling. Way too random. Pique was jumping back to the player. No way that’s intentional. This guidance needs to be revised

After a while this becomes a game of “can you knock the ball into someone’s arm.”

 

Clear penalty...well deserved, Spain stopped playing after scoring.

So, I'm hoping that Russia converts. Make it a game again.

If it’s not intentional it’s not a pk.

 

Nobody seems to know. It's central to the game, but the interpretation of the rule seems to be entirely random.

 

As I said in the Denmark- Australia match, there is no reason a Defender should raise his hands near or over his head in the Box.
You are only asking for trouble if the ball bounces near you.

 

Russia is like traffic cones, not active defending at all...

 

I've got to say I like how multitalented this Spain team is in a variety of sports. Sergio Ramos in wrestling, Pique can play volleyball, and Busquets is champion at peekaboo....

Not entirely but highly inconsistent. Bizarre how they’ll let any holding go but have overly strict handling rules. I’d like to see that reversed.

 

It is. If your arm is not together your body, it becomes an obstacle. And I think the VAR agrees with me.

Otherwise everyone would start jumping with open wide arms for defending.

 

Now the pace is slowing down to walking pace...

 

You and I must be watching a different game. Pique couldn't stick his hand any higher in the air if he tried. That was NOT about balance or positioning. Actually, it looked very much like Maradona's Hand of God.
