What the hell is going on in the last 10 minutes?! That's why this defense worries me.

My Dad just e-mailed me from Poland - says the goals by Wisla are nice, but other than that, it's not too interesting. He's most impressed w/ the new pitch :)

    Does anyone know:
·URL for the website that snows Championship League goals (I lost the address)?
·Is Fox Sports World showing highlights tonight?
    ·Is Polvision showing highlights?

Well, I subscribe to TV Polonia online. By tomorrow they should have highlights. It's only $7/month and you can stream most of the programs they show on TVP1 ("jedynka") or 2 ("dwojka"), including Wiadomosci, Telekspress, Sport, Sportowy Tydzien and the high quality soap operas like Klan (LOL). But I would only recommend subscribing if you have a high speed internet connection.

I would really be surprised if FSW showed highlights of that game. They might mention it, but probably no footage.

    What's Polvision??

So they played Ok, but definitely need improvements before the 3rd round. I think they need 2 defenders, and probably a creative midfielder (Pater is no Uche)...and now I think maybe a keeper

Who do you think they should get?

My picks so far: Tomasz Klos (unless he already signed w/ Gornik Zabrze?), Marcin Burkhardt

Klos would be a nice addition, but they should also look at their 2000 Youth Championship team, for some young blood.

That's where Nowotczynski is from I think, but he still needs time, as he showed today. Possibly the defender Kowalczyk from GKS Katowice. Zajac from Groclin might be good to replace Uche.

Zajac is staying home. Remember Groclin is in Uefa Cup.

That's right, almost forgot. I guess when Cantoro gets fit again, maybe he could play in that position.

    From UEFA

    Wisla suspend unhappy Uche
    Thursday, 31 July 2003

Wisla Kraków have suspended Nigerian international Kalu Uche for six months after a row over reported interest in the player from AFC Ajax.

    Refused to play
Uche missed Wisla's 5-2 victory over Omonia AC in the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round last night, having refused to play in the match according to club officials.

    Dispute over clause
The 21-year-old midfield player refused to train for several days when news first broke of interest in him from Ajax. Uche, who arrived in Krakow from RCD Espanyol two years ago, claims there is a clause in his contract allowing him to leave if a club offers €1.5m but Wisla deny this.

    Weakened team
His contract with the club runs until June 2006 and Wisla do not want to lose a player who was a pivotal figure last season, especially after the summer departures of Kamil Kosowski and Marcin Kuzba. Their prospects have been dented further by injuries to defender Arkadiusz Glowacki and midfield player Mauro Cantoro.

    'Behaviour is scandalous'
Bogdan Basalaj, the Wisla president, said: "Uche's behaviour is scandalous. It seems he has forgotten that everything he has he owes to Wisla. When he came here he was in Espanyol's reserves."

What I read recently is that there may be a clause like that in his contract, but Ajax only offered 750K for him.

I assume you were referring the UEFA website, which doesn't have goals from early round games.

Also some news from practice today, Wisla have tried out defender Dixon Choto from Zimbabwe who previously trained with Legia, Pogoñ and Górnik Zabrze, left midfielder Martins Ekwueme an 18 year old Nigerian who's brother pays for Wis³y P³ock and central midfielder Minabe, also from Nigeria who last played in Malta and Shingayi Kaondera (last of Górnik Zabrze i Widzew £ódŸ).

Choto apparently has the best chance to stick.
