Since Velez is playin Boca , and Sao Paolo is playin Gremio , I am asuming there's no rule regarding two teams from the same country not playin against other in the round of 16 ? Even in the group stages there were teams from the same country playing against another.
Has a rule of that sort existed ?
I didnt know that a lot of rules Conmebol rules are different from those of UEFA.

Well supposedely this year the conmebol rules have changed. No two teams from the same country can face each in the final like what has happened the last two years well unless for example four brazilian teams make it to the semi finals. If two from the same country make it to the semis than all four clubs will be re grouped to avoid a national clash. I think it is stupid, I think that the best should go to the final.

At this point the only possible way a single country final can happen is if 3 brazilian teams make the semis

    Santos, Parana, and Gremio/SP/Flamengo

    It probably wont happen

With the old rule, a Santos vs SP final would have been possible
