I am excited about this signing - even though I've never heard of the guy - for these reasons: 1. A lot of Argentinians have been really successful in MLS 2. Management is showing they are willing to open the checkbook 3. Mentor for Tommy Thompson 4. DP money for an attacking midfielder. I am picturing Wondo getting a lot of service.
He is more a deep lying mid ala Pirlo. Expect him to provide the ball to the guy who makes the assist. But yeah . Quakes management finally figuring out they need to keep up with the jones' is a good thing
Suarez can bite Sigi all he wants. Sigi doesn't mind. There's plenty of him to go around. BTW, the Quakes looked a lot better with Wondo on top solo and with their foreign contingent supplying him balls.
they needed to do something to sell more tickets because the new stadium is soooo much bigger than the old one.
Wondo is a good player But he's getting up in age. They need an even bigger star for next year to fill up their new home. Preferably a forward when two forwards are needed or when Wondo goes cold. That's the only easy they get in and stay in the playoff hunt next year.
If your calves and thighs are strong, 5'5" is no disadvantage in terms of being pushed off the ball. Lower center of gravity plus good balance is actually an advantage. Where it becomes a disadvantage (or a limiting aspect of your game that you have to deal with) is that it makes it harder to pull away from guys that you've beaten off the dribble, or to run down guys that have a lead on you.
