How is it exactly that Chile and Colombia are supposed to be better than Paraguay? Because they look better while being eliminated by Venezuela and Peru. Paraguay had a pretty bad game but at the end of the day we eliminated the current champions while the other two lost to Venezuela and Peru.

Not to mention Paraguay played very well vs Ecuador , in the first game vs Brasil, and the 2nd half vs Venezuela.

Paraguay could have easily won all 3 of the group games but lack of concentration messed it up.

And not alot of teams can say they beat Brasil while having a bad game :D

Paraguay fascinates me. Reminds me of King Joe, the giant robot-made-of-spaceships in UltraSeven. Covered in some indestructible armor, it could take a pounding and then, in a moment of surprise, could break apart into the little ships and re-assemble behind the enemy in a wink, to give them the lethal kick.

Boring to watch it taking hit after hit, but the damn thing was nearly unbeatable.

Heres another fun fact about paraguay. They have made it all the way to the semis without winning a match.

I wouldn't be surprised if they win the whole thing without winning a match.

After all, Italy became World Champs in 1990 just because they were a rock defending.

Ooops. Sorry, brain fart, hard to type correctly from work. Germany became WC champs in Italia '90 thanks to their great defending, in what was otherwise a lousy tournament with the lowest amount of goals scored per game ever.

So far this CA has a 44/22 = 2.0 goals per game average.

The Italia '90 WC ended with a 2.21 goals per game average.

Similar to the World Cup they managed to beat only Slovakia, but almost made it to the semis. They do have an ability to soak up pressure and catch defenders napping.

Credit where credit is due Paraguay battle for every blade of grass on the pitch. However I see them fading in WC qualifying, their talent is dwindling and tema slike Peru, Venezuela, and Colombia have all improved.

You still disagree that Uruguay is not the best team in South America? Uruguay also Stepped it up in the Last World Cup.. It was only a matter of time before they got the shit together.
