Well, it’s not easy to follow some of these threads without the aid of performance-enhancing drugs.

Slow yer roll, Dieter. Cause we know what happens when Germans get too big for their britches.

The Lord failed to punish Lindsey Vonn for her blasphemy against His Great Bloated Son. He also failed to punish Norway for being libtards who give participation ribbons to all children in the race, rather than big damn trophies to the winners. The Lord is becoming quite negligent.

    Thank you!

Related: I've been saying for years on this site that the genders are naturally attracted to one another and both naturally do things to increase that attractiveness to the other. It becomes objectification and harassment when one gender has more power than the other and sex is then used as a bargaining tool instead of for the gratification of both participants.

When we 1) get rid of sexism in the culture, and 2) rear women the same way we do men, it won't be "Objectification" because the power will be equally divided. Flks can them see each other as attractive without anyone being forced.

    Daayyyyyum... you're right, too.

I'm still trying to figure out why tf they did that, even as a joke. Were they paid?

That's not what Abby Wambach would say about them.

They were hustled. U.S. Soccer's PR flacks said, 'Hey the NY Times wants to do a photo shoot. Great publicity!" The players shuffled off, obediently, with no idea that the NYT photographer planned to make it a sneak gay-porn shoot.

But there's a time space between arrival at the shoot and the shutter being clicked. They didn't show up dressed like that, and the clothing should have given them a clue that this was not a good idea.

They didn't think about what it means for the USNT to allow themselves to be portrayed like that in a shoot advertising a sport that's still trying to be fully recognized here. I have FB friends who saw those images and asked me about them (I'm one of the few soccer fans among my family and friends). They made sure to say up front that this was not a Joe Namath in pantyhose thing- essentially, gridiron already has its propers, and so does Namath. I had no rebuttal, and soccer lost some potential fans.

Gold in womens Cross Country relay, Gold in womens Hockey, and Mens Curling team beat Canada to head to Gold medal round, just think how bad this country would be doing in the games if it wasn't for Minnesota.

Or women. Our men can't do anything but trick jumps, and OK somehow curling. (Where did that come from?)

Bless your heart. Celebrating a semifinal in the exhibition farce that is this hockey tournament would be like the US celebrating a quarterfinal at the World Cup if all “Big 5”/CL/Uefa Cup teams refused to release their players.

the atmosphere seems to be about 1/10th as electric as what I'd see at a mid-week minor league game in Wilkes Barre.

I’ll take your word for it as I haven’t seen a single minute. My hockey mad former Canadian colleague hasn’t even made a single FB post/tweet about it. Considering his dad, uncles and cousins probably have about 40 NHL/WHA seasons between them, I’d say 1/10 the atmosphere of a mid week game in Wilkes Barre isn’t too far off the mark.

Like Trump's old tweets, you're the gift that keeps giving.

    https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/2015-world-cup.1884208/page-44#post-32412320

"I wonder if anybody would take an Olympic ice hockey tourney seriously if either the US, Canada or Russia would not participate. Most likely: nobody."

-White/Blue_since1860, June 2015 when making excuses for the German women's team.

They're all technically participating, but the players who would be on those rosters aren't. Canada is missing 421 NHLers. The USA 245. Plenty of others among the other major players too.

You said it yourself. Nobody cares.

In the NHL era (98-14), Germany has finished winless in 10 games vs. the 6 teams that have medaled at any point in that era. You were outscored 9 to 49. You did manage to only lose one of those games by a single goal when Canada was caught coasting in the final period nursing a 3 goal lead. So you've got that going for you. Enjoy your Halb Finale.
