I just saw in the N&A forum that Philly has set their groundbreaking ceremony for Dec. 1. Commish Garber is even gonna be there. Gee, I wonder if he will make his presence known when we break ground (assuming we do sometime soon....).

This does make me hopeful that we can still get our stadium done by 2010 sometime if we get going by early next year, as Robb mentioned earlier this week.

Not to be a basher but the stadium in Chester looks to be a bit more simple and straight forward to build.

Re: Missouri Development Finance Board (Stadium Funding Czar's)

From the OA Website for meetings next week:

    Thursday, November 20

    Department of Economic Development
Missouri Development Finance Board Personnel Committee Meeting, 9:30 a.m., Capitol Plaza Hotel, 415 West McCarty Street, Jefferson City, Missouri. Portions of the meeting may be closed pursuant to 610.021 (13), RSMo. (573-526-0773

Hopefully the Stadium finance is not part of the closed session. I am pretty sure closed session is only called when discussing personnel issues.

Re: Missouri Development Finance Board (Stadium Funding Czar's)

    It lists 2 meetings:
Missouri Development Finance Board Personnel Committee Meeting, 9:30 a.m., Capitol Plaza Hotel, 415 West McCarty Street, Jefferson City, Missouri. Portions of the meeting may be closed pursuant to 610.021 (13), RSMo. (573-526-0773)

Missouri Development Finance Board Committee Meeting, 10:00 a.m., Capitol Plaza Hotel, 415 West McCarty Street, Jefferson City, Missouri. (573-526-0773)

The first one is a "Personnel" meeting. Probably related to internal/employee or board members business.

The second one is probably the one. I talked to Valerie yesterday and she said the agenda would be online today.

Interesting thing to me is the location is not the same as what was listed. It was at their office and now it is at a hotel. Needed more room for all the "media" maybe.

Can they do computer simulations for various times of the year at 7 pm, so they can place the roof so they cover the most efficient and keep the field in shade? The game is much better when it's all in the shade as quickly after 7 pm as it can be...... dig a deep hole!!

thank you for that information kcfutbol, and I hope they place the scoreboard in a much better place than they did at CAB.. I don't think they made studies of sunlight before they placed their stadium.....

That's always been my main complaint with CAB. For baseball, it's really hard to see the innings, outs, score, etc.

alright, so it looks like the meeting starts at 10am, and if we're first on the agenda, we should probably know by 10:30 i'd think, right? guess i'll have to hold my breath until around noon or later as i have an appointment that conveniently starts at 10:30.

Well this will either be a great day or another roadblock that we Wizards fans allways have to endure.

Yeah. I'm optimistic. Seems Robb has said multiple times on here "If there were any problems you would have heard a lot more from us" and they've been almost silent. I have a gut feeling a lot has happened behind the scenes to make sure this happens.

That and we also have the neutral source of the KC Business Journal that had that article a little while ago that said that Finance Board is ready to approve the funding.

This is why I have a cautiously optimistic grin on my face today instead of holding my breath. :)

What I think would help us all feel better is if Robb would come back to the boards after the vote is approved (like within the next 24-48 hours) and give us some kind of idea of what happens next and how soon. Nothing like hearing it from the horse's mouth, so to speak.
