BVB: Bürki, Yarmolenko, Guerreiro, Toljan, Aubameyang, Pulisic, Kagawa, Sokratis, Schmelzer, Weigl, Toprak #bvbtsg pic.twitter.com/RLLqtrJ73Y— Borussia Dortmund (@BVB) December 16, 2017 I am calling a Pulisic goal today. It's about damn time.
Pulisic with a great settle on the run at the top of BVB's box, avoids a defender, plays a long ball to Yarmo, makes the long run and has his stretching shot on the low cross saved. 0-0 '9
Yarmolenko could have laid that off for a good shot by Pulisic, but I don't blame him for going to goal.
Did Pulisic originally force that turnover? I like the occasional pressing and countering from Dortmund.
I blame him, because he had him for the early pass, and late pass, to a greater opening. Then Aubama didn't take the outlet to Yarmy, trying to go at it alone. Lack of passing/tunnel vision is contagious. I believe Yarmy should be coming off the bench. He's a luxury player at this level and super-sub. Maybe a front 4 of Pulisic, Guerreiro, Kagawa, and Aubama, until Reus returns.
wouldve more fun watching pulisic run in space there instead of yarmo get tracked down for the clearly developing corner
Not a fan of the offside trap, unless you're absolutely sure. Keep everything in front of you, and then you have no regrets. Tip your hat to the opponent. Don't just let them in behind.
This is a foolish style for Dortmund at home against an inferior team. This manager's mindset is too entrenched from his circumstances at Koln where he has inferior talent. This is a situation where you should press. Put the personnel out there to implement.
On that last Hoff attack Weigl needed to fill wide and close down the man on the ball instead of forcing a CB to slide wide and open up space more centrally in the box. 0-1 '26
