The good thing is that Dortmund is more likely to steal points from Real Madrid than the Spuds. La Liga owns the EPL.
agreed, thats a yellow. he was trying to fight him off and hit him in the head. sell job clearly helped
Should have been 3-3, how do the officials ******** up so badly in such a big match? Man, I thought UM football got screwed at the 'Shoe last year!
The BT Sport guys I'm watching (from England --most everything football-related in Canada is from England) are protesting that no way that was a yellow. I'm sort of torn. I don't think he actually hit his face. The slow replay shows the hand slapping the shoulder.
Fairly easy match from Tottenham - though Auba's goal shoul have stood. Still, BVB needs to find more creativity up the gut.
No, he played for Germany in the Olympics last year. EDIT I guess he could make the switch to the US as that's a Youth tournament, but he doesn't seem interested in doing so. http://www.espnfc.com/germany/story/2470349/hoffenheims-jeremy-toljan-picks-germany-u21-over-us-team
Really look too toothless up front. Need more moves like that first goal if they're going to play that way - have to pull the backs out a bit. Good defensive strategy from Spurs, tbh.
I would say that given that BVB looked the more talented/creative side, it was too easy for Dort in the final 1/3rd. Bad OS call helped too, but I thought Dort was much cleaner on the ball, but didn't have a good idea how to break down D.
Perhaps easy is the wrong word, but at no point in that 2nd half did I think Dortmund looked the better or more dangerous side. Yet they still should have scored as Auba's goal was incorrectly called back. Outside of that moment, Tottenham looked in control and like they were doing what they wanted.
Probably fairly even frankly. BvB dominated possession. Tottenham outshot BvB and had more shots on goal. Of course the "offside" calls are also a factor and would have likely evened out the shots and goals.
If Dortmund was able to keep that 2nd goal then that totally would have changed the complexion of the match and who knows if Tottenham ever gets that 3rd goal or what happens.
Dortmund really need to find Auba early. When they are playing tiki taka, they run out of ideas. Pulisic was stuffed repeatedly on the wing, but still kept at it for 90. Had the ball at the top of the box when the whistle blew. Tough day for Dortmund.
Auba's goal would have made it 2-2 that changes the game. And that was a very harsh call on CPs goal, if anything Auba hindered CP more than lloris
