Could easily be 2-0, Saul blasts wide.

Again, Felipe all the way up in the 18 taking a shot. Showing BVB's right side 0 respect. Pulisic has to find a way in behind him and punish him to coming that far forward.

Atletico has BvB against the ropes at this point. The end of the first half can't come soon enough.

They smell blood in the water. BVB's midfield currently MIA.

He's great when you're beating the opponent by 5 or 6 goals. Not when you're in a 0-0 or 1-0 game against a good team.

Atletico are rampant... desperate tackle saves another goal.

    BVB need halftime.

Lucky not to give a penalty. The tackle was so bad he didn't touch ball or defender.

Pulisic hasn't looked good. I don't know why BVB can't help their fullbacks, but away to Atletico isn't the best time to only defend with 7.

Fantastic move by Hakimi. BVB need to switch wings more quickly

Meanwhile, Atletico just got 8 men back after an offensive corner while Hakimi was trying to start a counter.

It appears like Atletico has twice as many men on the field as Dortmund at the moment. That counter had no chance and you'd think Atletico would have been stretched.

Yeah, because Pulisic isn't helping nor is Sancho on the left. They both have looked poor.

Pizcek is def. not CL quality. Heck, he's not even BL quality. He's probably one of BvB's weakest links.

Simeone makes like $7M a year for one of the highest profile clubs in the world. Sure, you'd prefer him to Berhalter, but that's incredibly unrealistic.

Reus has been the only one of Dortmund's attacking 4 that's looked close to good. Paco hasn't seen the ball, Pulisic and Sancho keep losing it and failing to track back effectively.

Fortunately he was born in the USA and has a great personal attachment to this country, so I'm sure he'll be interested in leaving one of the best club jobs in the world and volunteer for a huge paycut to take on the project that is the USA.

    Oh, wait.

Well, to be honest, beating Atletico in their lair is, in degree of difficulty, the soccer equivalent of beating Anderson Silva when you got a bad leg.

    Can't be done. Or almost.

This is when the coach needs to take Sancho and CP aside and Have what we call in the south a “come to Jesus” meeting. Always worked for me...

Dortmund controlling possession 63% to 37% - pretty impressive.

Shots on target are 0 to 7 against, admittedly, but stats can be misleading.

Possession is not a measure of success in this sport; this is how Atletico play, by design. They are 8th in La Liga in terms of average possession this season, but 1st in goals against and 1st in tackles.
