Saturday, July 18 FC Porto vs. Paris Saint-Germain - BMO Field. Toronto, Canada Tuesday, July 21 Paris Saint-Germain F.C. vs. ACF Fiorentina Red Bull Arena; Harrison, New Jersey Saturday, July 25 Paris Saint-Germain F.C. vs. Chelsea F.C. - Bank of America Stadium. Charlotte, North Carolina Wednesday, July 29 Manchester United F.C. vs. Paris Saint-Germain F.C. - Soldier Field; Chicago, Illinois
My thoughts on this. Its very important PSG play in the US and Canada because clubs like Man U and Chelsea have beein whoring themselves out overseas for years now thus their brand is more well known internationally and PSG is playing catch up from behind. Also I really hope PSG isnt outnumbered by Porto supporters in Toronto but its likely going to happen. Also I have no idea how big Fiorentina's following is in the US but it cant be as big as Roma, Milan, Inter, Juver, Lazio so maybe in that game PSG can have the bigger support but again I have my doubts.
What's the deal with tickets? I signed up to be alerted but I never was. I'd like to go this if I can
It will be PSG vs Benfica in Toronto due to contractual obligations by Porto. I'm expecting PSG fans to be outnumbered 10-1.
Are they bringing everyone including esp. Ibra and the guys that just finished playing in the Copa America (short summer vacation)?
The players are coming back in different stages. Pastore and Lavezzi will be the last to join the group, their projected return date is July 27. Thiago Silva, David Luiz, Marquinhos, and Cavani are supposed to join the group on the 20th. The European internationals, including Ibra, should return on the 15th and join the others for the trip to the US.
seriously? how accurate are those dates for the players to return to the team? us people in toronto who bought tickets are basically gonna watch Ibra and a bunch of juniors? ughh.. this is the issue with games like this..
Ibra, Verratti, Lucas, Maxwell, Thiago Motta, Blaise Matuidi... etc. The dates could slightly change (although they were set a while ago), but this is always the case with preseason friendlies. Players who have participated in international duty always get more time to rest. And preseason is also a crucial time for "juniors" to show the coach their progress.
Really?? Not to be rude but I rather our players whom just came from Copa America have a nice vacation and actually enjoy their summer, instead of risk injury for a bunch of casual fans in another continent. (not u in particular.)
you are not being rude at all, i totally get your view. i guess i am not speaking like a PSG fan, i am actually a benfica fan, but there is no secret here where the stars of the game lie, and thats on PSG's side. the game is being marketed with guys like Ibra, Thiago Silva, Cavani, etc and yet none will be here. I agree, in the teams best interest, it is best they rest, relax, and come back ready for a full year, but they market a game with specific players, it is only right that those players are present.
From what i hear, they are practicing in NJ Sat morning, and coming into Toronto just for the game, and then leaving right away.
Sounds about right. They're touring across North America in that preseason tournament with other big teams. They have to travel to the West Coast for their next game I THINK. I don't remember their schedule.
http://www.livesoccertv.com/news/14...e-streaming-info-tv-listings-broadcast-guide/ Toronto, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Chicago over 11 days 7-18 --> 7-29 (12 counting day one).
Schedule is far from optimal Are any of the "stars" gonna play against Benfica though. They come back on the 15th and the game is on the 18th. No way they'll be ready to play
So the first match is tomorrow, is a roster available somewhere (?), we can assume all of the guys that played last week ... and who? This album makes it appear that Ibra is there, someone that knows the team depth better than I do might be able to get the rest of the present squad as well? http://www.psg.fr/en/News/105003/Ph...-in-united-states/second-day-in-united-states
