Erazo a million times better than Achilier. It's stupid he doesn't start for his team. He'll take that starting spot soon.
I'm not able to watch the game but maybe that's a good thing. Maybe it's the best thing that could happen to wake up the press to get on Rueda's ass. He's enjoyed a nice honeymoon since we defeated Uruguay. We should remember this is Australia's B side too. There are no excuses. This Ecuador team is poor and is looking favorites to end up 4th place in the WC group. We didn't try enough players over the past 3 years, and now it's haunting us because several of these guys are out of form and don't look like they're ready for a WC. Rueda only tried out players when he was forced to, for instance when Campos got injured he put Achilier in that spot, when Chivo Suarez was benched in Mexico he started playing Montero on the left, when Yoya broke his leg he had to call up Felipao, then when Chucho died he had to find Enner. The trend is clear - Rueda has not experimented enough and given enough players opportunities, and now we find ourselves in a position where at least 4-5 players are struggling with form and we have no backup. I'm glad Aguinaga called him out. Unfortunately there is not enough time to rectify the situation and this team is looking even worse than when we went out of the Copa America in 2011. At least those scores were respectable.
Martinez>E. Valencia as a forward. Ener really has terrible control and finishing but at least gets close to scoring. Martinez definitely is much better upfront though.
Can't believe it. What a come back. Best game in a long time I've seen. Loving the fight of the team to come back from the young guys. Great goal by Mendez. Martinez and E. Valencia very dangerous up front. Bye bye Achilier and Bagui from the NT, never what to see you guys get called up again. Amazing game in the second half by Erazo and Paredez. Really impressed by both of them. Paredez deserves to go to Europe or even Mexico. Montero is a beast like always and Valencia is a great captain.
yea definitely. were not that lucky though he did, has been consistently our go to guy, game in and game out. he's indispensable
the last time i remember us making such a great come back was against Paraguay in the 2002 qualifiers. we were down 2-0 and managed to net in 5. coincidentally i think that was one of Valencias first games for the national.
