Can't offer too much as my stream was about as good as Arsenal today, but a win is a win and after years of throwing away games in an effort to play Arsene's way I'm very pleased. It may have been ugly but they secured the shutout that gave them the chance they needed and eventually took. Hopefully this will help them build belief and see them fight through other tough games in the future as they develop a taste for winning.

Fancy play is pretty. W's are prettier. Keep it going.

DC arsenal fans with a good showing on nbc.
It’s bitter sweet bc he also has been fouled in the box twice in two games and didn’t go down to force a decision by the ref. Seems to be a good guy, and it’s sad but you have to go down when you get fouled in the box unless you’ve got a real opportunity.

We should just play a 4222 and bench Ramsey and start Iwobi. I like Ramsey, but it makes no sense to try to squeeze him in the team when he won't even be here long term.

It was an issue I thought would solve itself with form/fitness. I just don’t see how you can bench lacazwtte on current form.

Agree on iwobi. Needs to start. Maybe try auba out right? He went there later and that seemed to work a bit better. If that doesn’t work then bench him until laca gets hurt or needs rest/loses form.

Also we did not play well

Emery has a leprechaun or something because we should’ve conceded about 5 more goals than we have

This is a weird one. In a lot of ways you have to think Emery is a poor manager. It's not his fault that we have a mismatching squad but his system seems to be an additional part of the problem as opposed to part of the solution. In terms of the structural problems with the club, we've really made little or no progress since Wenger was fired.

But that's only have the picture. In other ways it seems that Emery is doing an excellent job. The team spirit is good, the players are motivated, they train well, they're playing with confidence (except Ozil) though for some of them it just means they're playing badly with confidence. The team has belief, and results have been at least decent.

Schizophrenic season to say the least.

I saw it too, I miss him, he was SO much a Gooner and a friend of ours, that was when they were showing his Arsenal flag out on the Pacific coast, right?

He must've had mixed emotions knowing we were playing his old club, Watford.

4-for-4 here in Project 24, a perfect 12 POINTS through 4 matches we should easily win, and that we did!!!

    (chant going out)

    U-NAI'S RED AR-MY!
    U-NAI'S RED AR-MY!
    U-NAI'S RED AR-MY!

    U-NAI'S RED AR-MY!
    U-NAI'S RED AR-MY!
    U-NAI'S RED AR-MY!

Arsene Wenger didn't have the Gunners on a roll like this the past several years, did he??? Unai's Red Army marches on!!! We're up to a tie for 4th spot (Scums take 4th on goal difference though), and now more than ever I'd like to post up The Jeffersons' opening theme, because "we're movin' on up!!!". COYF'n'G!!!

I know it’s not pretty, but what I think we are seeing is just the actual Arsenal that the club (mostly arsene) has built—no more, no less. Our front line is scoring goals. Our defense is giving up chances. We rolled out over 250m in attacking players today and about 75m in defenders.

That was the difference today—our elite front players making the most of a few chances.

    Just watched it.

Iwobi made a huge difference. Even if they were mostly knackered by the time he came on. He made a big case to start.

Great striker's finish by Mesut! Made up for all the missed opportunities by Laca.

    I'll take the points. Onward.

But can they PLEASE get rid of Neil Diamond and bring back Curtis Mayfield?!

    Actually it's 5 for 5.

Mostly winning ugly. Or at least leaving it VERY late.

Our results are better than last year's any way you measure them (more points in the same # of games, more points from the same opposition). Emery still has a lot left to do, but the initial results are about as good as could reasonably be expected.

Don’t agree with the deserve too. We scored more goals so we deserve to win.

In this one, we should have had a pen and laca created a golden chance for himself and we “deserved” to be 2-0 up in the first half. Everton was the same situation. Should have had a penalty early.

I am worried that when we play some good strikers these chances will hurt us, but I realize our defenders aren’t great and that’s only going to be addressed in the xfer windows or maybe when Kos returns.

Holding is more ready than I thought. Mustafi is much worse than I thought.

Good win I guess - both sides blew great chances in the first half

Nice far post to near post run from Ozil for the 2nd

Auba just doesn't look like a left winger to me

Auba and laca are both strikers

Could try laca as a 10 in a 4231 if I want both together

They only work together vs shit aides

Had a good game except getting run behind a few times.
