Not sure where I can post this so I thought I'd post here. I looked on my profile page and noticed there is a follow section. Some posters are following me and others aren't. Anyone know exactly what this means? Just curious.....
It's Big Brother... Before you could "friend" people and both parties would follow each other's posts. Ok, it was mutual, right? No big issue. Then, when the new site was launched; it was designed so people could actually "stalk" you and follow your posts without accepting and at least have the opportunity to reciprocate. I actually now have to find out "who followed who" first to fix that.
Wow how strange. But why would someone want to "stalk" you and follow your posts? I mean what does it mean?
Nope...but I believe they should have left it as it was, when it was more of a muatual thing. They loved to do so much to emulate facebook - then why screw up the only thing they copied right?
Is that stalking thing on facebook? I'm, on fcbk but never really knew how to navigate or manage that site either...
If I think what you write is intelligent or funny, I might follow you (a la Tiwtter). Then I can just go to my stream and only posts of people I follow are there.
With Twitter, you can "follow" peoples tweets (posts). Think of all the sports stars that have their twitter postings made public. This is a similar feature (as far as I understand - I am not on Twitter).
Yeah I really don't have a twitter account and I don't really check it out. Well I did last week when the Quakes got rid of Tresor Moreno and he was on his way back to South America but as a rule, I rarely go on there.
This has nothing to do with Twitter. If there are BigSoccer members who I want to easily follow, instead of hunting them down in all their forums, I simply get a stream of all their post activity rolled together into a river.
Well then perhaps you could have added that feature instead of taking away or changing the "friends" feature....
Cris, Help me to understand. What was the additional functionality of the friends feature that you are missing and the benefit derived therefrom? Thanks!
Huss, My point was that before, when we friended people, I could follow them and vice-versa. With the new feature, if someone follows me, I then have to go and follow them in return for it to be mutual. I hope I am making myself clear...let me know. Thanks, Cris
I see. Do you get notified when someone follows you now, or is it that you wish you were so you could reciprocate?
