It is quite ironic with all this recent talk that the two specific players Cooper used during the WC winning spell to be specifically strong, direct or to mainly cover ground were both white Our midfield if anything was pretty lightweight, which is why I believe Gallagher came into that squad.
You should have seen the Newcastle match then. His all round game is good but I do wish he wouldn’t go on walkabout as much. I like him more central.
You can't ask for people to shed light, and then call them excuses. @JRSG hit the nail on the head with what he has said, and really this is why I get so frustrated with Poch. What he seems to do is take the top talents and stop them playing u18s football and make them train with the first team. It's not easy to gauge but I can't think of a single player that has benefited from this method, and another poster on Spurs Community noticed a couple even the lesser players that get called up tend to pick up injuries. The intial picks are correct as they were the best players at the time but I can think of TOB, Edwards and Onomah for 3 players who were the best players in their respective age groups then starved of any football at various periods between the ages of 17-19/20 while those around continue to play and catch up or overtake, even KWP has suffered. Winks played an extra year of u21 football which may have helped him, though he's also more of a good lad and safe player which would have helped him, and I'd argue Skipp is similar in that sense though I think he's got more about him than Winks. TOB was a quality player but he has been really let down and is definitely playing catch up. To think he has fallen behind White and Bowden for example and on performance you'd say understandably so, shows how far he has fallen. He was one of the best players I'd seen at u16 level along with Kirby and they were better technicians than Skipp. I've been watching these guys play since they were 12/13. But don't take our word for here it is a former CHelesa and Spurs academy coaches opinion from here blatentorient 25 points 1 year ago Who's the best player you've worked with? permalink mpfcsaul[S] 74 points 1 year ago Nya Kirby at Palace and Oakley-Boothe at Spurs are the ones who are now hitting the pro game, there are several just underneath who haven't yet broken through. An 11 and 9 year old at Chelsea who are the best i've ever seen at that In saying that though, I think Skipp can be pigeon holed into a pure DM and he has a lot more about him than that, and if we manage to bring him through (I have my doubts) we will have another quality player on our hands. And Skipp. They were our 3 DMs who were more about breaking up play when compared to McEachran, TOB and Gomes. Though Gallagher and Skipp have more ability than Denny
What a strange thing to say. He didn't use a size advantage he was just more technical than the others. Can tell that you've seen very little of him. And he doesn't take too many touches. And I didn't see much of him these last months but I saw him vs Inter alongside Skipp and he looked the much better player.
You obviously like hounding newer members out of here if their opinions don’t correlate with your own but I’m made of stronger stuff. Bullies come in groups for a reason. At least IGSpur gave a balanced and professional assessment though.
Simplistic, but TOB played 5 UYL games (4 starts) out of a possible 6 in 16/17. He's played 5 times (4 starts) from a possible 12 since then.
I didn't even know you were a new member, sorry if I was abrupt I just give my opinion and don't mean to bully anyone - bar the Guardian.

Here’s Greenwood VS Juve including that ‘awful’ first half. 1060495562766716933 is not a valid tweet id
Chelsea are, or were, after Brooking. Dunno if that's affecting him not getting U18 minutes when Reading have given just about all their schoolboys some time. Nevers is a really interesting player. I don't know if the name makes my mind go in this direction but, purely in terms of style, there's some Thierry Henry about him. The way he nudges the ball ahead when running upright and the way he opens up his body when shooting is rather similar at times.

Albert Phelan u14 Cup Please correct if anyone knows more. North Nottm Forest (Qualified) Liverpool (Assuming qualified) Blackburn Sheff Wed Leeds Man City (Qualified) Middlesbrough Newcastle Manchester United (Qualified) Sunderland (Assuming qualified) Everton Bolton Derby (Qualified) Villa Stoke Wolves South Arsenal (Qualified?) Reading (Qualified) Norwich Leicester Crystal Palace (Qualified) Brighton Tottenham Millwall Chelsea Cardiff * * Chartlon (I think they qualified) Fulham Southampton * * Swansea, West Ham and West Brom
I believe Chelsea are top of their Floodlit Cup group and unbeaten. Walsall won their group, Wigan won Group B with Liverpool as runners-up.
England scouts obviously watch the Albert Phelan Cup very closely for England u15 camps. First two QFs I know of definitely are in South. Crystal Palace v Reading Arsenal v Tottenham
I think Charlton & West Ham (group winners) qualified from one of the south groups in AP Cup. Meaning Fulham/Southampton didn't make it. Just Chelsea's group with Cardiff and assuming Swansea and West Brom. Juni, would this be Chelse's u14 side. J.Clarke A.Hughes D.Roberts F.Lissah A.Akpan Alex Kpapke Lewis Hall Silko Thomas Charlie Webster Jude Soonsup-Bell W.Tomlinson Louis Flower ?
In the North looks like. Nottm Forest v Man City Newcastle v Liverpool/Blackburn Derby & Man Utd 2 of the other 4. Sunderland/Everton and who finished behind Derby the other one.
