Ampadu's better right now yeah, he's more assured in possession, he might be smaller but he's far more willing to get stuck in and be aggressive, and plays with a professional mentality. When Panzo's good he's very good but he's got some work to do with his focus and concentration. There's a reason he's playing left-back rather than centre-back for club and country atm.
Fair enough but again that is due to the experience he has had at Exeter no? Whereas when they were both15/26 Panzo was better. Hence the reason Chelsea didn't take on Ampadu, and why could he not get into England age group. The classic coming through the FL makes you look better than coming through the academy

Is it not just the fact that playing more senior football and training with senior players can accelerate your development?
Just watching Dortmund v Spurs and quite interesting that Sancho seems to be playing a more central midfield role that doesn't seem like it's working so far but just as I write this Austin has just had a nightmare to give Dortmund some hope to bring it back to 2-1 Spurs.
Spurs have been very good though, their players full of tricks and skill, especially Edwards and Shashoa. Skipp having a very good game at the base of the midfield.

English clubs topped 4/8 UEFA Youth League groups this season, Man United missed out on topping theirs due to an away goals tiebreak.
The big game between Man U u18s and Liverpool in the league today was a really competitive, full throttled, cut and thrust match, with Liverpool almost crossing the line with a win, after being down to 10 men for an hour, and being a goal down early on. Most pundits claim academy football is a waste of time, but you certainly couldn't sensibly make that claim about a game like this. Liverpool could have put the game beyond reach towards the end, but for greediness and inadequate finishing. Then Man U deservedly on the run of play equalised with moments to go - 2-2.
Supposedly England youth international Pascal Kpohmouh (2001) & Benni Smales-Braithwaite (2002) didn't get scholarships at City.
Liverpool now face Arsenal in the Youth Cup next round in January. Man U are 2-2 in extra time against Derby. looks like pens?
For anyone interested City U12's in the prospect Cup over in the States, will post some matches here: http://www.prospectscup.com/pc-day-3-g2-bvb-v-manc http://www.prospectscup.com/pc-day-2-g1-roma-v-manc Just can't seem to find highlights of the game v Real Madrid but they are in the final tomorrow fwiw.
Really quite surprised by this, always liked what this guy says and now the FA are letting him go!! Seriously baffled. 943789142202306560 is not a valid tweet id
Touching on something we were discussing back in the autumn, the U15 Floodlit Cup group stages are coming to an end soon. Some of this week's results from the fifth round of six in the groups: Chelsea 4-0 West Ham Crystal Palace 3-2 Millwall Man City 5-1 Man Utd Arsenal 1-2 Colchester Norwich beat Leicester (scoreline TBC) Stoke 4-0 Wolves Stoke (3-1 vs Aston Villa) and Man City (5-0 vs Rotherham) also won fixtures last week. Chelsea, Man City, Norwich, Stoke are all through to the Quarter Finals, not sure about anyone else yet.
Reading fielded U15 player Imari-Narain Samuels (who has been involved with England U15s recently) in their FAYC win over Colchester the other day, and as a result have been removed from the competition. http://www.readingchronicle.co.uk/s...f_FA_Youth_Cup_for_fielding_UNDER_AGE_player/ What's everyone's thoughts on this?
The rule is stupid now, and could do with being changed, but to not know about it is inexcusable, it's been around forever. The change they're particularly annoyed with is to be kicked out, rather than get a replay like Southend did last season, but even then they aren't the first to be kicked out like that this season, Shrewsbury were done too. No excuses.
Stupid rule, but amazed they weren't aware of it. ITFC nearly fell foul of it a few seasons back when they took George Fowler to Bristol City for a tie, luckily they'd travelled down night before and were made aware before the game
Man City beat Inter Milan, on a penalty shoot-out, to go through. There were an amazing number of "misses" , with Foden himself being one of the "culprits" with a very tame effort. Overall City deserved to go through, playing a much more "progressive game" looking to probe their way through a disciplined defence. They went a goal down when Grimshaw was caught by an onrushing forward and used the popular "tactic" of booting it straight at him (his boot actually) instead of the more sensible method of kicking the ball away from the onrushing striker, towards the wing (maybe in the direction of the fullback). Anyway, they are through.
Didn't see much of the game unfortunately but managed to see the penalties which were pretty awful from both sides, at one point I thought no one wants to win this game At least good character by Grimshaw who made up for his error for Inters opening goal by producing some good penalty saves.
Incidentally saw bits of the Spurs game this afternoon as Spurs won on penalties against Monaco. Bennetts scored a really good solo goal with some neat skill on the left hand side of the penalty area and then bending his shot into the far corner of the net.
Liverpool beat Man U 2-0 and go through to face Man City. It was an outstanding first half from Liverpool, but they should have had more than a 1-0 lead to show for it. First class performance from Neco Williams, but he's Welsh of course. Genuinely Welsh, to be fair. Some might say I'm being harsh but Jones was slightly disappointing. He looking a bit "distracted", like he's been around Chamberlain too much. Don't they have "total awareness coaches" yet. It is 2018 after all (I'm reliably informed. Even under Nicky Butt, United were compelled to attack more and "have a go" in the second half. But they couldn't quite manage to draw level. It's still looking bleak for Man U's Angel Gomes .He had a very quiet game. It was easy to forget he was on the pitch.
