Interview with ITFC Head of Recruitment Steve McGavin - confirms ITFC will be staying as Cat 2 for audit this year - but this part jumped out at me:

“When EPPP was set out, one of the things they weren’t keen on was Cat One clubs taking players from each other. But there are actually probably more transfers between Cat One clubs than there is any other categories.

“I won’t say the clubs’ names, but one Premier League club recently took another Premier League club’s best Under-nine, Under-10, Under-11 and Under-12. The financial package that the Under-nine got was mind blowing.

FAO: MG - Do you know what the Man City u18 line up was last Saturday in the 1-1 draw with West Brom? I've checked a number of times since and couldn't see a report with details of this.

Chelsea u23s dominated Liverpool last night running out 4-1 winners. It was all a bit "toothless" until after the break, but even then Liverpool hardly seemed to mount much in the way of attacks and attempts on goal.

Only one u18 game today. Man U beat Boro 5-1. Under a new coach United put in a really good performance, with some outstanding football played. From the start I thought it a high standard from both sides. United though ran away with it in the second half.

Was Kieran Mckenna's first game as U18 manager too after he switched to United from Spurs.

Angel Gomes has now 4 goals and 3 assists in 3 starts. I am not sure i'd want him going deeper now once Gribbin comes now.

Last night a dominant Chelsea u23 side beat Spurs 3-1, with Oakley Boothe coming on as a second half sub.

Think he'll be starting for U23s soon enough. He's already better than the older midfielders currently ahead of him.

Man City u18s today beat Man United 2-0. City largely dominated the flow of the game for the most part, with Sancho, while not being at his most "turbo charged" he was a consistent thorn in United's side (the left).
    Gomez for United, was lacklustre.

Chelsea u18s, yesterday, beat Arsenal 4-2 - Crossdale scored a hat-trick (two pens). Callum Hudson-Odoi contined to look a genuine prospect.

How is Charlie Brown getting on? Only interested from an ITFC perspective

He looked good in preseason (but that can be misleading) putting some goals away in good style. But currently he's spending more time on the bench than playing, it seems.

Is Dozzell showing any signs of progress this season so far?

He's been playing mainly as a right sided attacker cutting inside and tbh he's done well with the time he's had. Scored twice, had another disallowed, works hard and is trying to integrate himself into a playing style where everyone else has been together for years. Always a good sign if you can make something happen despite limited involvement so keen to see how he goes between now and, say, Christmas, particularly if Martell gets some U23 time.

    Cheers

Our U23s are a bit of a waste ground and he seems to have drifted away from the 1st team with new signings coming in. He has played well when playing for the U23s, and I'm just about to go down and watch him against Leeds, but is unlikely to get much first team action it seems this year.

Thanks for that, the boys we bring in at 16 always take a while to get going - and can't imagine it is any easier going into an even better U18 side! Be interested to hear how he gets on

Interesting, I had a feeling things may not been going that well of late. If there is anything of interest about him from tonight's game I'd be glad to hear about it.

West Brom U23s thrashed Aston Villa U23s last night 5-2. Goals for lots of English youngsters with Hepburn-Murphy scoring both of villas goals and Harper, Wilson and Campbell X 2 scoring for baggies. Both Harper and Wilson are first yr scholars and these were there first U23 goals. According to reports Jonathan Leko had a good game causing a lot of problems on the right wing and even winning a penalty that Campbell put away.

Had a relatively quiet game - a few bright moments but nothing worth writing home about. Ben Morris scored 2 very well taken goals

Last week Arsenal u19s did well to come out with a draw against PSG away. PSG dominated the possession most of the game but there wasn't much decent goal mouth action at either end. An uninspiring performance from Arsenal with the likes of Nelson and Chris Willock starting.
