What leagues in the US are professional (by "professional", I mean the players being paid at all, so this may include some leagues considered by some to be "semi-pro" because the players don't make their full-time living from the league*)? Here's the ones I know to be professional: Men's - MLS, USL Championship, USL League One, NISA (if it happens) Women's - NWSL Indoor - MASL Did I miss any? *I'm not entirely opposed to the term "semi-pro" but tend to associate it with leagues where some players/teams are paid and others aren't.
Not entirely related, but couldn't find another thread to post this in. (if there is a better spot let me know) I see occasional maps showing all the locations of MLS or USL teams scattered around the country. But does anyone know is there a master calendar or website for the SCHEDULES of all teams. In other words, it would sure be nice that whether its MSL-USL-P, USL1, USL2,NPSL , that if I was taking a trip from one area to another, i could piece multiple games in my trip. Right now, I have to jump from league page to league page. I don't really even like MLS schedule on their website how it functions. - Example, want to catch a game in Cincinnati this year thought, ok is Indy or Louisville home within a day or so of any Cincy home game, so I could catch 2 game on the same trip. Ideas or suggestion ?
It's really down to the media to produce something like that and there's not the interest. @kenntomasch probably knows as much about the different leagues as anyone.
This is the USL Championship schedule for 2019: https://www.uslchampionship.com/league-schedule This is the USL-1 schedule for 2019: https://www.uslleagueone.com/league-schedule This is the USL-2 schedule for 2019: https://www.uslleaguetwo.com/schedule/day/league_instance/86684?subseason=583580
-------------------- I realize all the leagues have their individual schedules on line, i was hoping there was a site with ALL of them in one place. Maybe USSF should be that resource since we have so many individual leagues. Just can't believe with all the technology out there, it hasn't been done.
I did it all once, years ago. It was a pain in the ass. You're welcome to give it a go. The way MLS lists its own schedule on its website makes it really difficult to import. Because MLS' digital strategy is headed by a marmoset, apparently. And what was the PDL did largely the same thing, listing things by dates on different pages instead of just one schedule on one page. Plus (and this has been a big one), rescheduling of games is too prevalent, especially the lower you go. Good luck keeping track. And is this correct, it's Feb. 17 and there's no NWSL schedule yet? Joke league. Ditto for the Canadian Supposed Premier League.
I agree, but not every other league would have that many games on one page if they had that many games per season. This year MLS will have 408 games. Earlier it was closer to the 256 games the NFL has. I'm used to NFL schedules having one week or one team on a page. The NBA has 1,230 games, and MLB and NHL have more, so they're not going to list every game on one page. https://www.flashscore.com/football/usa/mls/fixtures/ shows a bunch of games, and if you click on "show more matches" three times, you can see every game on one page.
