Wow, so all the kids who burst onto the scene in 2004 and 2006 have now retired from the NT? Man, that feels weird (and I feel really old all of a sudden)!

Still, I think it was the right time for Poldi to go his own way - thanks for all the memories!

Thank you Podolski, you served your country well and ended up with a WC medal as well as the 3rd all time top scorer for Germany!!!

well at least now that opens up 2 new spot for new players with Poldi and Basti gone.

Glad he won that World Cup. Maybe it's just me, but seeing guys I grew up with win it all means a lot more than the guys for later generations. Klose, Schweini, Lahm, Poldi mission accomplished. Only wish Kahn could have won it too.

Nice that he can retire as a World Champion.

Shame that there aren't more characters like him, seemed a fun guy to have around.

Thanks Poldi for all the memories, even the ones that involve me pulling my hair out over why you're still on the team sheet.

according to Low, Poldi's farewell game will be in March 2017.
Would have been great if Basti and Poldi played their farewell match together instead of being separate.
