Financially, this was not a smart move for Barca (winter window) nor can they use him in UCL. The reason why this happened now and not the end of the season is because the likelihood of Barca getting pwnt by FIFA with another transfer ban is very high... if it happens... Otherwise there isn't much reason to do the transfer now. Which is why I put in that part about Barca getting pwnt by FIFA. I think currently, there are three open formal complaints against them for illegal approaches...

Not sure why lul since most teams generally play with at least two CBs... VVD is a great signing but need someone better than Matip and much better than Klavan or Lovren to pair with him... I've seen lots of duses named in random transfer rumor articles however the only duse who they a somewhat realistic chance at is Stefan De Vrij of Lazio since his contract is about to expire... Barca, Man U, Juventus and other teams are supposedly interested also as well as the possibility that Lazio manages to re-sign him... Other duses out there would cost a lot of money...
