Run in is not as nice as this past season - and we don't seem to have any BRUTAL stretches - save for the one period mentioned above - Nov. 25-Jan. 1. Remember it's a World Cup year - the season ends 1 week early and the International Breaks will be that much more intense. Injuries. ----------------- August 12 - Watford (A) 15–16 - Champions League playoff 19 - Crystal Palace (H) 22–23 - Champions League playoff 26 - Arsenal (H)
At least we don't face a daunting stretch of several top 6 teams in a row. We play on Dec 30 and Jan 1? Doing that to us again?
Presuming we make the CL group stage - Klopp will need to play a U23 and fringe team for the League Cup games and then also rotate quite a bit so that we aren't caught short again in December and January. Get the damn signings in!
LOVELY - we'll win the title at Stamford Bridge .... (you heard it first here...) May 5 - Chelsea (A) 13 - Brighton and Hove Albion (H)[/QUOTE]
What do our matches look like after CL games? Are we potentially home/away for those matches? (somebody usually has this insight and I'm too swamped to look).
If we get by the qualifier: September 9 - Manchester City (A) 12-13 September 16 - Burnley (H) 19 – Carabao Cup Round 3 23 - Leicester City (A) 26-27 September 30 - Newcastle United (A) October 14 - Manchester United (H) 17-18 October 21 - Tottenham Hotspur (A) 24 – Carabao Cup Round 4 28 - Huddersfield Town (H) 31 October - 1 November November 4 - West Ham United (A) 18 - Southampton (H) 21-22 November 25 - Chelsea (H) 29 - Stoke City (A) December 2 - Brighton and Hove Albion (A) 5-6 December 9 - Everton (H)
I always look at who we are playing over the Xmas/NY period. For example, wouldn't want to play Chelsea, ManC and Spurs over the course of seven days ....... As it is we have: 26 - Swansea City (H) 30 - Leicester City (H) 1 - Burnley (A) Could be a lot worse .........
According to Bookies Citeh are favourites to win EPL, ManUtd second favourites then Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool......so they think Pep and Jose will get it right whilst the current holders will struggle?
how can they post odds while the window is open? one huge signing could significantly swing a team's chances. makes no sense to me, but then again I don't bet on sports.
This is the time where teams like spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool will have better odds or a bit of value
They still rate Jose quite highly even though he has a short managerial time span at clubs.....and the clever money is on citeh to click I suppose
if pep is getting ready to bring in a number of new faces - and I'll be surprised if he doesn't - maybe the clicking will still be a work in progress for them next season. I hope.
They calculate odds so they more or less can't lose unless something very weird happens. As long as someone is betting, the bookies are happy.
According to the Daily Mail which is almost the new in-house magazine, Man U opening 6 matches are so winnable that it will be atop the table at the end September and will take some shifting.
Crystal Palace at Home is the day before my birthday. Any bs'ers want to make my bday special this year?
