Nah. Portland on top, the other 9 teams in the West tied for 2nd and Minnesota in 11th on goal differential.

Anyone have FIFA17? Is there such a thing? If yes to both I would love to see our players skill ratings and how they compare to a couple of other random teams.
Second question that is at least on topic - I wonder if anyone tried using FIFA player ratings to predict (going forward or retroactively) a teams performance in a game or over a season?

@Dan Loney has done more to get people looking at my blog than surgical enhancements did for Baywatch.

The predictions in this thread now seem a tad optimistic.

I'm happy with mine. I underestimated Alessandrini's goal scoring rate and Onalfo isn't fired yet but otherwise I think I my general assessment of how the season would go was pretty accurate.:

Finish: 8th (Agree with wcmanes: Early results horrible and just goes downhill)
    Playoffs: No.
Golden Boot: Gio, with 10 goals.
    Assist Leader: Alessandrini with 7.
Surprise Player: Not on current roster.
Disappointing Players: Too many to choose from: BJIV because he will end up buried deep on the bench, McBean because he will be lauded for his "hold-up play" game after game but won't have more than 4 goals by end of season, JJ for being brilliant for stretches but also missing half the season with injuries and red cards, Garcia because he is being set up for failure.
Is Onalfo still the coach at the end of the season?: No, he will have lost the team and the fans 3 months in, fired midseason.
Is Onalfo still the coach at the beginning of next?: Yes, for some Southern Cal youth team.

Ok, this was a tad optimistic.
    Predicted-- Playoffs: No hope
    Ok, maybe so
Predicted -- Golden Boot: Dos Santos
    Ok, I meant Jonathan here.....:whistling:
    Predicted-- Assist Leader: Alessandrini
    Ok, maybe so
    Surprise Player: Jones [Surprisingly bad]
    I stand by this...:coffee:
Disappointing Player: Cole [A non-Merry Old Soul]
    Ok, this was wrong...
Is Onalfo still the coach at the end of the season?: Yes. He wins the coveted Jay Heaps West title.
    All too true.
Is Onalfo still the coach at the beginning of next?: Yes. The FO wins the coveted Burnsie West title
All too close to being all too true......

Aha - You guys know how my modesty prevents me from saying I told you so. Not:
"Is Onalfo still the coach at the end of the season?: No, he will have lost the team and the fans 3 months in, fired midseason."

    You're welcome.

As of last night, I was still convinced Pete & Klein would keep their boy.

    Happy to be wrong.
