Now that the World Cup is over, the next big qualifying process is about to begin - Euro 2020.

Anybody wanna attempt to predict the 24 nations that will qualify?

Remember no country qualifies automatically. And you must pick at least one team from each UEFA Nations League.

We could make it interesting and have a competition.
In general, 1 point for predicting each correct qualifier.
    Exceptions:
    - Any league B teams that are in your list and qualify gives you 2 points.
    - Any league C teams that are in your list and qualify gives you 3 points.
    - Any league D teams that are in your list and qualify gives you 4 points.

    - Any league A teams excluded from your list that do NOT qualify gives you 3 points.

So for example, if you have Romania on your list and they wind-up qualifying, you get 3 points. If you have Germany on your list and they qualify, you get 1 point. If you do not have Poland in your list and they do not qualify, you get 3 points.

Does it make sense to do this before the qualifying draw in December?

Perhaps you’re right. I was thinking that the Nations League is essentially the start of qualifying and it also determines the seeding for the main qualifying draw. So will be quite a bit easier (less interesting?) to predict in December.

I find that the UEFA Nations League was a good idea

Gibraltar managed to avoid pot 6 for the upcoming draw. So we could have a group like:

Switzerland, Austria, Finland, Georgia, Gibraltar, San Marino

... with at least 2 of them qualifying for the Euros, and up to 4 of them qualifying! :geek:

Finland (12 points), Georgia (9 with 6 against Gibraltar), Gibraltar (0), and San Marino (1), combined to get 16 points from their 36 Euro 2016 qualifiers excluding Georgia vs. Gibraltar.

Switzerland will be in group of 5 ...

Honestly if we get group like this then who knows perhaps we can surprise lol(by being so bad):
France - have never been to Tallinn; as reigning world champion definitely attractive opponent
Germany - haven't played them since pre world war II so it'd be about time to meet them or haven't been it Gibraltar we'd have played Russia twice on Putin's birthday during world cup 2018 qualifiers ... So both Germany or Russia could bring people to the stadion.
Finland - yes we just met in NL but another match which wouldn't be too unattractive.
    Estonia
Kosovo - have never played them so as new opponent i'd like to see them ...
San Marino - last time we played them away we ended their 61-game losing streak so obviously we cant make same mistake twice or can we ...

So yeah hopefully draw gives us group of France-Germany/Russia-Finland-Estonia-Kosovo-San Marino and we then show how it's possible to get less then 7p in this group ...

How does that work? Israel was in League C and didn't get promoted or relegated.

Because in my predictions only 2 league A teams and 4 league B teams. won't qualify for the Euros through the regular qualifying process,. So for the league A playoffs are added 2 league C teams. The 2 highest ranked league C teams not already qualified and not involved in the league C playoffs are Israel and Hungary.

(I think that's how it works?)
