MLS Regular Season Match Columbus Crew FC at Atlanta United FC Saturday, June 17 07:00 PM Atlanta, GA. TV: CW Columbus / Spectrum Sports / BCSN2 (Spectrum 311/1311, AT&T 005/1005, WOW! 005/205, DirecTV 053/902, Dish 053/7205, Antenna 53.1)
Anyone else heading down for the game? I'm looking for tickets but I don't know where away fans sit at Bobby Dodd Stadium.
Just contacted Tim at the United group sales and got tickets, adding to the 45 Crew fans sitting high in section 201. 13 seats are left @$20. I have a link if you need it.
So after all the hype and despair of the Cincinnati game where we lost to a midtable USL team with our starters....a win against Atlanta seems likely for no actual sensible reason but to string fans along further into accepting that everything is fine.
Since we where shit the last two games, we will win this one. Such is the life in the creamy mild. We are the Even Steven's of the MLS.
I've been informed that Justin Meram walking over to the fans when the fans were shouting at Berhalter after the Cinci loss is proof this team still believes in Berhalter and will fight for him. I do think this is a winnable game. We all have seen instances where a lesser team has exploited a Michael Parkhurst marshaled defense for a set piece goal. I'm hopeful that we can do the same. But, if we are to win, Steffen will likely need to stand on his head in this one.
Which players in particular do you think have quit? They played like dogcrap against Cincinnati, but it wasn't due to a lack of effort. The locker room isn't anywhere near the doom and gloom of the last months of Warzycha.
It's funny. Reading AUs forum, they seem to have the same qualms with their team and it's playing style that we do with ours. Can't break down a bunker. Their own defensive line is insufficient and needs replaced (lead by Parkhurst) and their D mids are just "okay". If neither of us can defend sh*t maybe we'll just have a goal fest. Win 4 - 3.
I wasn't quite sure of this either despite their being rumors of players asking for trades, players unhappy with playing time, a visible lack of effort and grit specifically in defense and the midfield, and a general inability to execute the coaches game-plan, among other things. But, just to make sure, I went to check Corporate Shill Andrew King's Twitter timeline to get the real scoop. Seeing #CrewSC fans who have never stepped foot in a pro locker room speculating that players have given up on Berhalter is so funny to me.— Andrew (@AndrewKingCbus) June 16, 2017 Welp! That settles it. Shut up you non-press pass having plebes!!! ALL FOR BERHALTER AND BERHALTER FOR ALL!!!
Haven't heard about any complaints from current players (Tony obviously wasn't happy about not playing) besides Duka and Manneh, who both think they're too good for MLS despite not being good enough to get on the field.
How does he know who has or has not stepped in a pro locker room before? Or to put it in his vernacular... "Seeing fools who have never met someone before tweet speculations about where those people have been in the past is so sad to me."
Has Manneh disappointed since arriving in his extremely limited minutes. Sure. Frankly the entire team has disappointed with the possible exceptions of Steffen and Artur in the last two months. But to say he thinks he's too good for MLS despite not being good enough to get on the field is a very peculiar (and factually inaccurate) thing to say about a guy who had over 4700 minutes and 54 starts in MLS between 2014 and 2016 (despite being injured half of 2016) all before his 22nd birthday. Facts? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I completely agree with your premise, but I think we could add Meram to the list of "not disappointing" in 2017--and there's no question that Steffan and Artur have been great pick-ups. I would also add Pipa to the list personally, but I recognize that is more controversial here!
Jesus. I can't believe I forgot Meram. Good point. It could be that I couldn't see him behind that locker room door I don't have access beyond, thus leaving my opinion only half formed and invalid.
All crew games are potential losses ..in the last 10 minutes and on the road As a fan I am fairly numb...un-thrilled, out to lunch, and Rally bus damaged
