Atlanta U. verse Rapids 5PM Saturday, June 24, 2017 Bobby Doud stadium (Georgia Tech campus) Atlanta TV: Altitude --- Radio: Altitude AM 950 The Rapids play one of the United's on Saturday. Not a terrible loss against LA, but we'll see if the Rapids can recover with short rest. We've seen them play better lately, but I think the short rest and heat get to them and they loose 3-1 in a game that has one entertaining half and one slow half. I'll make no prediction which will be which however, so you'll have to watch.
Eastern time zone, humidity...could be bad. With Atlanta's speed, the game could turn in a hurry, too.

Saturday night, the Rockies' big bats take on Kershaw in L.A. That sure sounds a lot more appealing than watching the Wooden Spoons get annihilated by Atlanta.
High of 83°F and 84% humidity in Atlanta. No need to remind me why couldn't ever live there. The humidity combined with the travel, a quick turnaround and no Saeid don't bode well for the Rapids. I assume we'll see Powers in place of Saeid. If Doyle can't go maybe Calvert gets the start. Not a lot to make us optimistic. What's with the shambolic defending in the last few matches (including some of the wins)?
2-1 loss, goal by Gatt. Atlanta has the best offense in the league but one of the worst defenses. That won't be enough help to the Rapids offense though. Given our patchwork lineup due to injury and our busy schedule I don't see getting a result here. http://view-from-the-couch.blogspot.com/2017/06/rapids-hope-to-survive-terminus.html
It's baseball, It's like 50% commercials, you could easily do both. Personally, I have no an animous to baseball, but no interest either, till around October.
2-0 loss. Coming off the loss to LA combined with the factors mentioned already (heat, humidity, Saeid out, road game, little rest) means a Rapids team showing a lack of focus and inconsistent teamwork. Scoring any goals will prove to be difficult. Again, here's to hoping I'm way off.
I am going to say we get rolled on this one. PM will throw the kitchen sink in when we are down 1-0 and we end up getting smoked as the humidity and heat take it's toll and our defensive mindset changes to desperation.. Not that I am completely upset with going for the win, a 1 goal loss counts just the same as a 3 goal loss. On another note, I routinely read the opposing team's analysis (as I suspect many of us do). When it came to tickets, it appears they have been sold out for some time. My buddy's in Orlando have a hard time getting tickets. Not sure we have that problem at "the Dick". rod.
I've been watching baseball my whole life but I watch a lot less lately, and rarely entire games. There's just so much dead time now even when they're "playing."

Atlanta's 1st good chance in the 28th on that Martinez header? That's a lot better than I thought it would be.
